A YouTuber chasing his “dreams” fractured his skull after leaping into a river from atop a massive Texas bridge last week.
Saa Fomba recorded last Monday’s stunt at Austin’s Pennybacker Bridge, posting it to his YouTube channel on Friday after several days in the hospital.
The footage shows the daredevil as he hatches the dangerous stunt.
“Hopefully this video will motivate you to chase after your dreams,” Fomba said to the camera as he prepared to jump into the Colorado river. “I don’t see no fun in living a normal life.”
A woman later records Fomba scaling up an arch of the bridge. At the apex of the arch, Fomba raises his arms into the air before wildly jumping to the water below, the video shows.

Why? What’s so scary about that? The car is designed for it, the tires, shocks and brakes are high performance. The road is built for speed.
Best I’ve done is about 115 but it was on a two lane road and just for a short bit.
Did 100-105 across Montana a couple years ago in a rental Infinity SUV. Horrible ride. Lots of bounce.
Slowed down to 93 as dusk was settling in. That’s where I met this really nice State Trooper who showed me the lights on the roof of his car and gave me a piece of paper to tell me how fast I was driving.

I wouldn’t join her either out of a sense of embarrassment. 120 mph on the autobahn is way too slow.
I was in Germany in 2012. I drove 120 and over on the Autobahn. It was rather boring after a few minutes and I was getting passed regularly.
There are a few roads in America (I think in Montana) where there are no speed limits. But the cops can give you a ticket if they think you are going at an unsafe speed. So do like we used to do when I was younger. Find a nice long stretch of road. Drive it to ensure there are no surprises, then run it to redline. Much more fun.
The roads (not to mention the cars) are so much better engineered and constructed than US interstates that greater speeds don’t seem as risky as they would here.

IIRC the design standard for an Interstate grade highway is 75mph, not 150mph.
The lanes, ramps, etc. are designed for that speed.

A couple of times in the past but not any more. Reasonable and Prudent speed law was thrown out after it was deemed to be too vague. A clown from back east (who claimed to have been a NASCAR driver) got busted for driving stupid and blew it for everyone.
that’s the difference. That’s why those higher speeds on the autobahn don’t feel much faster. I had a VW Golf and just cruised in the middle lane at 160 kph / 100 mph with much faster, better cars whizzing by me in the left lane.
I drove a Mercedes up to 200 km/h for about 15 seconds, just to be able to experience that once. A European colleague would routinely drive between 230-250 km/h there. Not comfortable for me. On the other hand I swan dived a 150 ft bungee jump in my 20’s...
Speed and height, two of the more dangerous things in life.
Sparked a memory: My ship made a port call to Kiel, Germany for the city’s annual festival & sailing regatta. While walking about with shipmates — in search of good German beer and unattached Fräuleins, of course — witnessed two European clown cars with several pax in both vehicles combined collide head on at about 45mph on a surface street. Max mangled metal, severe injuries, and a lifelong bad memory. Germans certainly “feel the need for speed,” but at what a cost.
Yes, the Type “T” personalities we had in our salad days. We look back now and are thankful we didn’t win Darwin Awards.
Impressive young man. Went for broke doing something way out there that wasn’t criminal or anti-social. And he survived to tell the tale. The army needs men like this.
