The roads (not to mention the cars) are so much better engineered and constructed than US interstates that greater speeds don’t seem as risky as they would here.

IIRC the design standard for an Interstate grade highway is 75mph, not 150mph.

The lanes, ramps, etc. are designed for that speed.
