The official YouTube account on Twitter celebrated what it called “Unthanksgiving” on Thursday, an obscure holiday the far-left platform claims is meant to honor “indigenous resistance.”
The official account of the Google-owned video platform has not posted any tweet celebrating Thanksgiving, snubbing the holiday currently being celebrated by its millions of American users in favor a 5-tweet thread about “unthanksgiving.”
From the thread:
For Indigenous and Native Americans, the fourth Thursday of November is dedicated to Indigenous history, activism, and resistance. It’s called Unthanksgiving.
Unthanksgiving is about acknowledging, educating, and honoring centuries of Indigenous resistance. Coinciding with New England’s National Day of Mourning, Unthanksgiving activates Alcatraz Island, the site of a 19-month occupation by Bay Area Natives in 1969.
For generations, Native Americans and Indigenous persons have shared their experiences, using Unthanksgiving as an opportunity for intergenerational and intercultural dialogue.
Generations before have lived on these lands. Days like Unthanksgiving are opportunities for learning and understanding whose land you live on. Find out here → https://native-land.ca
Unthanksgiving is about honoring Native American and Indigenous heritage, to better understand this history. How are you connected to – and connecting with – Indigenous heritage and history where you live?

Ugh! Libs ruin everything. Any YouTube alternative?
Shut them down - let them run their business in China - they don’t deserve our liberties here.
Lots of flat out LYING about how America was settled. The truth is EVERYONE invaded and pushed others aside back then. ALL ACROSS AMERICA. One tribe would take over another tribe’s area, then whites would run into them and assume THAT tribe had been there forever. But in many cases, they had been there less than 100 years.
Dog eat dog. That is the way of the world. Not pretty, but America is a better place to live now than in 1750.
People here don’t realize how good they have it. If they should end up living under Communism, then they will actually have something to complain about.
I just can’t wait for Festivus!
Excellent post. It was what it was back then. Move on. I’m full of turkey & gravy ; )
Can you even imagine the horror of living with one of these people? Every minute of every day being told what’s wrong, horrible, & the probably constant lecturing?
Happy Thanksgiving FRiend!
“...For Indigenous and Native Americans...”
As for “indigenous resistance,” are ywe to celebrate when they attacked colonial settlements? I understand why the did, but is it ok to understand why my ancestors fought back?
Resistance? Lol... The Stone Age savages (who lacked even the wheel) happily traded it all away for shiny beads & fire water.
Prove me wrong.
Before the Whitemen even showed up, the’Indigenous’ peoples had held their own wars many wars, many of them even genocidal.
Just about Anywhere these people lived (the good/best places), they had taken it from someone else before them - many long ago tribes/cultures ceased to exist because of that.
It is the way of the human World - happening via these Indigenous peoples actions themselves.
Them Surviving today indicates that the Whiteman and moreso the diseases which came were not as bent on wiping them out as they would have everyone suppose.
They should go cry for the people THEY destroyed themselves.
.
I am full of succulent Cornish game hen stuffed with brown rice sauteed with slivered almonds and mushrooms, creamed spinach, homemade cranberry sauce and finally, homemade pumpkin pie. Soooo worth it! If the libtard fascists want to screw up this time-honored American holiday, I burp in their general direction--and don't even say "Excuse me!"
It’s redundant. Indigenous means native to an area. Problem is, there are no real indigenous peoples of America. Sure, some people’s ancestors got here first, but that doesn’t make them indigenous. It just makes them the first ones to get here.
Idiots.
Without the USA, we would not even be having YouTube, Twitter and any other social media (or internet, for that matter)
Whatever, A-holes
Pretty sure I know way more indigenous people and tribes.
They feel they are their tribe and fully American at the same time
“...If they should end up living under Communism..”
“They” apparently just voted to live under communism...although I’ll always believe this election was stolen.
“It’s redundant.”
I’m getting sick of this bullcrap about thanksgiving I’ve heard for years about “ native Americans “
We ARE native Americans. !! All of us !!
Secondly were giving THANKS TO GOD AND FOR FAMILY
This holiday more than any other is about FAMILY !!!
so all you godless communist losers from hell. Eat shiite and die !!!
