Maryland Gov. Larry Hogan (R) said during a press conference that not wearing a mask while being out in public is like driving while drunk and there is no Constitutional right to do either of those things.
"Well, it's sort of like saying, 'I have a Constitutional right to drive drunk. I have a Constitutional right to not wear a seatbelt,' or to yell 'fire' in a crowded movie theatre or to not follow the speed limit. We're talking about a quarter of a million people dying already. More than the Korean War, the Gulf War, and the Vietnam War added together," Hogan said.
"Which part do you not understand? Wear a mask. There's no Constitutional right to walk around without a mask. We did it in 1918, I don't know why we can't do it now," Hogan continued.

I will continue to resist these tyrannical edicts. They can ban me from stores, they can fine me, they can arrest me, they can even try to kill me. I can promise not to go out without one hell of a fight.
Arrogant statements and comparisons like his make me want to incite violence. I’m going for a walk...

Notice the Rat didn’t mention the right to an abortion in that statement?Wel it’s my body and I’ll do what I want. The government can keep their hands off of my body. It’s my choice to take the risk of getting the illness or not. Not the governments.

"Maryland Gov. Larry Hogan (R) said during a press conference that not wearing a mask while being out in public is like driving while drunk and there is no Constitutional right to do either of those things."
Another asinine opinion from the very reason we have a constitution that puts chains on government. To keep mischievous clowns like Hogan in those very chains.
Constitution enumerates what government can and cannot do. Not that government is free to imply powers if the constitution is silent.
It's called... "Rule of Law."
The constitution LIMITS government from assuming powers it does not specifically grant. And it has NO SUCH POWER to limit individual liberty, commerce or social freedoms because of a threat from a virus! NOWHERE is government given such power.
Does government possess the power to stop ALL modes of travel because it deems travel a health risk because of the possibility of accidents and deaths?
Does government possess the power to stop ALL manufacture of cigarettes/drugs/alcohol/hamburgers/candy because it deems all a health risk because of the possibility of deaths caused by cancer, obesity, diabetes, kidney/heart disease, and drug abuse?
NO! Because government CAN'T impose restrictions upon the liberty, commerce, free movement and social interaction made by individual free will/choice.
Stupid choices, behavior and lifestyles that cause premature/unintentional or accidental deaths is none of government damn business nor is government empowered to interfere.
Government isn't mommy. Governments role is to defend/protect/apply the rule of law. And that government exists to serve on our behalf with the primary duty and responsibility to DEFEND our way of life! Not constrain it, interfere with it, provide for it, or redistribute it. And that it will act ONLY on our behalf as guardians of our security, life and liberty, THAT IS IT!
And it is to STAY THE HELL OUT OF THE WAY and leave us alone!
FO' Hogan... you are WAY out of line and should be recalled for your jack-ass opinion and failure to adhere to your oath of office! You are an employee that has been entrusted with borrowed power to carry out the duties and responsibilities under the rule-of-law of AN OFFICE! You ARE NOT that office, you are merely an agent of that office and must answer to the people who own it!

One question, Larry...do masks even work?

He said people in the republican party are looking for someone who is middle of the road and can compromise across the aisle.

I think we can agree that a lot of our elected officials are not grounded in principles and are not the sharpest knives in the drawer. That goes a long way toward explaining why we are where we are.

It seems roe v wade is antimask.
if masks are a legal regulation, then abortion falls.

Gotta hand it to Hogan- calling out Gavin Newsome (restaurant), Nancy Pelosi (hair appointment), even Anthony Fauci (baseball game), not to mention hundreds of protestors. Probably some other hypocrites I cannot recall at the moment.
To: longtermmemmory
Silly. That sort of “reasoning” only works for the left.

And if certain rumors are true, not wearing a mask is like preying on underage people.
And as far as I know, there weren’t these comprehensive statewide mask mandates in 1918. There was one briefly in the city of San Francisco, but an ad hoc “Anti-Mask Brigade” got a petition going to repeal the mandate. The mayor, fearing for his job, swiftly got the repeal done.

Yes, they call us all Grandma Killuurrrs for wanting to open back up, but your Emmy-winning governor actually EARNED that title.
To: sauropod
He did that a long time ago.
