An open letter circulating at Harvard University demands the school create a "system of accountability" for hiring former Trump administration officials or inviting them to speak on campus, the Harvard Crimson reported Thursday.
Inviting Trump White House alumni to teach or speak on campus would legitimize the "subversion of democratic principles," the letter states. Consequently, it asks school officials to create "accountability guidelines" to vet those who worked in the Trump administration. The letter also requests that the school share the guidelines with students before the year's end.
Harvard traditionally employs both Republicans and Democrats who leave the White House after an election. But President Donald Trump's "attack on truth" necessitates that Harvard administrators vet potential hires or speakers who worked for the president, according to the letter.
"The Institute of Politics at [Harvard Kennedy School], or any other center, has the responsibility to boldly confront Trump administration officials who are invited to speak at Harvard about their collaboration or passive acceptance of this attack on truth and fundamental democratic principles—or not invite them to speak at all," the letter says.
It's unknown whether a student or faculty member first penned the letter or how many have signed it so far, according to the Crimson.
Some Democrats have already targeted Trump officials as they begin to look for work in the final months of the current administration. In a Nov. 6 tweet, Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D., N.Y.) suggested creating a list of Trump White House alumni to hold them responsible for their "complicity." A new group, the Trump Accountability Project, created a website to do so, though the website deleted the list "in the spirit" of President-elect Joe Biden's call for unity.
And their endowments are how much?
Thing is, most of these liberal clowns will become conservatives in years to come. I hope it will be too late so they can live the nightmare they are creating.
We are expected to come together in a show of unity with these mentally deficient scum of the earth?! NEVER!!
Intellectual Cleansing.
How Maoist is that?
“Let’s heal.” Oh, and let’s also devise a system of accountability for allowing those hateful, racist, bigoted, misogynist and otherwise terrible, horrible, very bad, no good people to ever set foot on our hallowed ground.
(Oh, and let’s disarm everybody, too.)
I do not believe that will be the case.
Did Bill Ayers and Bernadine Dorn ever change?
About 36 Billion Dollars
how about accountability to NATIVE AMERICANS first?
Lawyer Warren and Harvard Law School has
made a reputation on keeping REAL native Americans down.
They lied. over and over.
Sanctions are due.
Reparation are due by Harvard, first.
I am beginning to think that, outside of hard sciences, the higher education system will need to be razed to the ground and ashes disposed of as toxic waste.
I’ve seen a number of rallies up close in brooklyn.
The HATE and ANGER is unlike anything I’ve ever seen.
Many of them were rabid.
If people think that those folks are gonna stop at just having Trump out, if that’s the way it goes down, they’re sadly mistaken
Shunning and Un-personing...standard Communist Party tactics
Next comes the camps for all dissenters
Today’s liberals love free speech, as long as it agrees with their world view 100%. Even 99% isn’t good enough.
The great socialist Bill Ayers was caught lying about his age to college coeds.
Maybe, just maybe, he isn’t really a socialist, but a dirty old man.
I know they weren’t part of any administration but let’s ask Angela Davis or Bill Ayers and his wife Bernadine Dohrn how they managed to snooker their way into our universities in teaching positions (professors)... I guess where there’s a will, there’s a way. Certainly being a registered Democrat would have some leverage. I wonder who blew up buildings or killed people while working in the Trump Administration.
Universities in the country are committing slow suicide. While they fight over who should use what bathroom, the Chinese and others are doing work that matters. Even if our kids learn Chinese, I doubt they will be as magnanimous as we have been and allow our students to attend their schools.
The following is an excerpt from my Community College newsletter:
“While this holiday is a welcome opportunity to connect with loved ones, it is also a reminder of the myths that form the foundation of our national identity. In the case of the Thanksgiving myth, the Pilgrims did not support religious freedom, imposed themselves on the native population and stole their land, and began three centuries of genocide in North America. It is important for us, as educators, to address this history and normalize multiple perspectives. To this end, it is exciting to see the rapid progress being made by the team of faculty and administrators working on new Ethnic Studies curricula. History is not monolithic and our students will benefit from studying the many histories and her stories.”
I’m sure a similar paragraph will be used for anyone who voted for Trump. I teach Chemistry and have thus far refused to discuss any political issue in class. It’s just a matter of time until all faculty members will be required to repeat nonsense such as this, from the lectern.
Academia elites preach to each other. They read each other's published journals. They are praised and reinforced by the propaganda MSM. They seem to close their eyes to anthing that does not agree with their world view.
“If people think that those folks are gonna stop at just having Trump out, if that’s the way it goes down, they’re sadly mistaken”
Mainstream Democrats have been telling themselves that all year. In the mean time, Antifa is talking about putting them against the wall first.
