CROWN POINT, Ind. (AP) — A northwestern Indiana city wants to install a facial recognition video network camera system downtown in hopes of slowing the spread of the coronavirus.
The step comes as state health officials on Friday added 13 more COVID-19 deaths to the state’s pandemic toll.

Not clicking, but why do I suspect that they will be so bold as to come right out and say that it’s not a civil rights issue because it’s “public safety” to do “contact tracing” with facial recognition, but they will gladly turn the camera’s off when the looters and firebugs need to peacefully protest

Yep. Seen plenty people in my town wearing masks when there was no good reason to. Strongly suspect some are doing it to conceal identity.

You cant use cameras in Indiana to enforce speeding tickets as a matter of State Law. they were mulling over doing it in work zones. Dont know if they were able to pass it.
this would face similar issues.
