I’m starting to see this at our local Walmart and HEB stores, and we’re in Texas. Sadly, you can’t help but get caught up in the frenzy, as we’re stocking up a bit extra. Our earthquake preparedness having lived in California during Loma Prieta (1989) saved us during the panic buying earlier this year.
Just to be on the safe side, I bought monster sized bundles of Scott toilet paper and paper towels. Picked up my Thanksgiving stuff already too (except the fresh veggies). Not taking a chance. Oh yea...my cats have enough food for months as well :)

How full are the hospitals?
A good friend has had covid for a month. She has been in the hospital since Nov. 1 and was in ICU for 12 days. She is going home today (Thank God)! They treated her with steroid, heparin and vitamins.
I haven’t seen or heard about anything like that here in Houston.
People are stocking up because they don’t want to wait two hours in line to buy stuff because these Governors told businesses they can’t have more than 25% of occupancy during lock down.

During the summer a number of TP and paper towel manufacturers were allowing you to order direct from them. That may still be the case. Of course, one probably had to order a Costco sized shipment.
But experts say the run is likely to be less severe this time as stores and shoppers are more prepared. Subodha Kumar, a supply chain expert at Temple University, told The Daily Beast: 'People have already hoarded a lot of this stuff in their basements.'

Someone online was citing digital attacks on intermediary steps in the supply chain were responsible for this round of shortages. Used a big cold storage company as an example of that.
This is madness. These governors have no right to restrict free Americans to the extent they have. Here in Florida we had a big spike in June and we weathered it. Never locked down. Now it’s back all across the globe. This is not a second wave. This is a second biological attack, maybe from the enemy within.
Hospitalizations normally go up a lot this time of year. How much of this, if any, is due to Covid?
