I really want to know what it is in Mark Esper’s PERFORMANCE that cause Trump to fire him.

Exactly what did he do or neglect/fail to do?

Trump doesn’t it need a reason to fire any cabinet member.

Several issues. The main one that seems most relevant now, was when Esper went out on a limb and declared that US Military forces could/would not be used in the domestic US to deal with domestic terrorism.

Trump promptly reminded him of the Insurrection Act, among other options available to the US President. There’s been a countdown on this firing ever since.
