Investors cheered on Monday after drugmakers Pfizer and BioNTech said trial data indicated their Covid-19 vaccine is 90% effective.
Many on Wall Street applauded the announcement as a sign that the pharmaceutical industry may soon have a viable way to control a disease that has derailed the U.S. economy for much of 2020 and has killed more than 230,000 Americans.
Futures on the Dow Jones Industrial Average surged 1,718 points, or 6.1%, implying an opening gain of more 1,700 points, or 6%. The Dow’s previous intraday record was 29,568.57, about 1,245 points from Friday’s close.

It is funny how they are trying to include Biden as a reason for the surge.
Wall Street is loving Biden as President (an impotent President they control) along with a Republican Senate (controlled). Bye bye trade wars, hello more globalism. If you have a large portfolio, you’ll be fine with President Biden. If you depend on manufacturing or oil/gas or other working class jobs, you are going to suffer.
I don’t know how these stock market responses are “assigned” to different things.

He needs to come out and remind everyone this is his doing, he owns this accomplishment before the media declare it is because of Biden. People have short memories. All they’ll remember is if Biden gets in is that 2021 was the year Covid got conquered.

Just how did they determine 90% effectiveness? Were they doing challenge tests? With control groups? If so with what sample sizes were used?
