Spoiler alert: I don’t think so.
According to the latest Rasmussen Poll, however, nearly a third of black voters would vote to reelect President Trump “if the presidential election was held today.”
Rasmussen often gets accused of being a pro-Trump poll, but the firm did accurately predict the 2016 election, so that has to count for something.
According to Rasmussen’s latest 2020 election survey, Joe Biden has “a slight 48% to 47% lead over President Trump among Likely U.S. Voters,” and while both Trump and Biden have roughly equal support amongst their respective parties, Trump “leads by three points among voters not affiliated with either major party.”
But the black vote is an interesting metric Rasmussen has been measuring, here are the recent numbers.
Oct 29, 2020 – Morning Reader Data Points:
"If the presidential election was held today, would you vote for Donald Trump or Joe Biden?"
National Daily Black Likely Voter % For @POTUS – October 26-29, 2020
Mon 10/26 – 27%
Tue 10/27 – 30%
Wed 10/28 – 30%
Thu 10/29 – 31%— Rasmussen Reports (@Rasmussen_Poll) October 29, 2020
Sounds crazy? Perhaps. After all, Trump only got 8 percent of the black vote in 2016. But, a Hill-HarrisX poll had Trump at 24 percent approval from black voters after the Republican National Convention. There’s no question that Trump has increased his support from black voters since 2016. The question is, just how much?

No.
No way but he should double 2016 at the least
15% would be huge.
DJT has done remarkable outreach and anything above 15% will likely usher in a resounding win.
Its hard to say after some of the big endorsements he’s been getting. The number probably won’t reach 30% but it could still be significantly higher than the last election.
They may not turn out to vote against him. They’re certainly not motivated to get out for Joe Biden.
They know obama/biden did nothing for them for over 8 years and biden has done nothing for them in over 47 years. obama/biden was too busy trying to please social justice warriors and the LGBTQ community to do anything for blacks or Latinos.
I also think a good number of the blacks that say they're voting for Trump are probably disillusioned with the democrats, and simply won't vote. Each person that does that equates in theory to a half vote for Trump.
Just this little but of measurable support from blacks, Latinos and union workers that traditionally support democrats will put POTUS over the top.
Whatever it winds up being, the Left is going to be crying
in their soup.
This wasn’t supposed to happen.
They pulled out all the stops to paint our nation as one big
cauldron of RACISM.
Many Blacks aren’t buying what they are selling anymore.
It’s just to blatant a lie. At some point even people who
want to believe it know it’s total bull stuff.
What will be hysterical is if Biden gets 80% or less of the AA vote, theyll be saying that he lost the black vote. But he will have lost because of the black vote.
Losing 10% of 12% percent of the vote is a 1.2 drop overall, while Trump doubling to 16% is an increase of nearly a percentage point. So thats a 2 point swing right there. In a tight race, thats a big deal.
It is a big deal, enough to swing states and lock up the important ones.
However if they do turnout in mass and vote for down ballot candidates they may get true local improvement.
Come on Trumpocrats, put him over the top!
Doubtful but even 20% would be catastrophic for the Dimms. Never thought it’d happen in my lifetime but is the black electorate finally waking up to the fact that voting 92% for one party isn’t doing them any favors?
“I can’t see how Trump gets that many black votes. He got 8% in 2016, and even a small increase to 10% is massive.”
15% may be doable if all the stars and planets line up just right, but 10% infinitely more sensible than the 30%+ crap. If the ridiculous number was actually true, then why do even most “friendy” polls only show a tiny (if at all) Trump lead in states such as Michigan, Pennsylvania, Georgia, etc. which have a significant black voting bloc in major areas? I guess he must be losing quite a bit from 2016 in some other group then (gullible, COVID-terrorized seniors perhaps).
Not only that, if 33% of blacks were really voting for Trump it would imply at least a 50% figure for black males and possibly closer to 60% because he’ll still get less than 10% from black females, without a doubt. Even in the most ludicrous make-believe world, 50%+ of black males are not voting Republican.
I pray that all of President Trump’s outreach and real change to benefit black Americans pays off with their support for him.
And I pray that these hopes of ours is not yet another example of the Charlie-Brown-and-the-Football prank that we have been falling for for decades.
That would be wonderful but I dont think that many blacks are woke...yes 15% would be wonderful...blexit baby!
NC is 22% black
VA: 20%
GA 30%
FL 16%
MI 14%
Trump lost VA by 5 points. Getting 1/3 would have made it a dead heat.
In states like NC, FL, & MI (which Trump won by thin margins) any increase in the black vote would help him to retain the state for 2020.
Nobody remembers this, but Trump got 15 percent of the black male vote in 2016, according to exit polls. That is huge. It was offset by the barely 3 percent of the black female vote.
Trump has significantly built up that existing 15 percent of black male support in the last four years; signs point to it having doubled. If black female support has also doubled, to 6 percent, were looking at overall black support in the high teens, low 20s. Which would give Trump his margin of victory almost everywhere.
