This will be where the rubber meets the road. We’ll see what the new SCOTUS is about.
Waiting...
Tuesday, November 3rd is Election Day. It’s not two weeks from now, or next month. It’s TUESDAY.
About time.
“Trump is leading in North Carolina by 3 points in the latest poll ”
Excellent news! If the polls are showing Trump is up by 3 points, the reality is that Trump is up by 7 to 10 points.
Bring on ACB
5-4 conservative, not 6-3
Why didnt they mail their ballots in a week or two ago?
What is frustrating is not knowing what procedure the SC will follow. Does Roberts alone get to decide? Does Roberts decide if the SC as a whole review it? Finally, why, why, why isn’t such needed background included within these stories?
Both sides have pushed for early voting and mail in voting. Changing the rules after the game has started...is a foul! Rules are put there to stop any, in this case...political shenanigans.
mediass lies continually
we do not have a 6-3 court
we now have a 5-4 court
I cautioned earlier to not take Justice Barrett for granted. She will be under pressure, at least in the initial days, to show her ‘neutrality’.
Both requests are now pending before the Supreme Court, which after the arrival Tuesday of Justice Amy Coney Barrett now has a 6-3 5 1/2 TO 3 1/2 conservative majority.
I can’t see the court changing the rules less than a week before the election. Maybe make it clear that such extreme extensions won’t be allowed in future.
Keep a close eye on those late ballots though.
What has the standard always been -— must be received by election day, or must be postmarked by election day?
I do not understand that if the written law says all ballots must be postmarked by election day that some or any judge can rule that the law is void.
Can he/she/they rule that heroin is legal? Murder is ok? Shut down a newspaper that writes bad stuff about the government? Order a citizen put to death?
It’s ridiculous that this is even an issue.
Hope ACB comes through. Only Legislatives can make election law.
This is like playing Whack a Mole. Meanwhile fake ballots are being counted all over the place. The USSC needs to issue a blanket ruling on ballots being in by election day.
We actually need to lay off of John Roberts just a bit.
Judges are like building inspectors; some do a quick look and scribble their signature; some look for certain things and nail the builder. In such cases, the builder learns to do those things right in the first place.
Roberts looks for certain things and makes decisions based on tight language. He went against PA republicans for some language, and went with them in WI for different language.
So, if you don’t want him chucking your papers back in your face, do your homework.
