Chinese Community Party newspaper said Chinese warplanes "must fly over the island of Taiwan" and warned that Taiwanese government retaliation "means war."
An article by Hu Xijin, the combative editor-in-chief of Chinese state newspaper Global Times, came after yet another round of potential U.S. arms sales to Taiwan was announced by the Department of Defense.
Hu accused Taiwan's ruling Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) of promoting anti-China sentiment through "de-sinicization," working with Washington to "jeopardize the rise of the mainland."
Hu cited the Chinese foreign ministry's recent sanctions against American defense companies Lockheed Martin, Boeing Defense and Raytheon as proof of Beijing's "countermeasures" as Taiwan's weapons procurement escalates in quantity.

Yeah, I know. Yada yada. Mother of all battles, right? Oh that an earlier loser. He’s dead now. Mmrph.
Then who will eat General Tsos Chicken?
Time to put nuke installations in Japan, the Philippines, Taiwan, and South Korea. Put these @ssholes in check.
Pei-Ping.
Last thing anybody needs right now is yet another war, let alone with China.
Time for everyone to lower the hot rhetoric and take a deep breath.
Time to get rid of all their fortress Islands they built under Obama.
China is on the ropes. They have a famine going on and need trade to economically survive, on top of unleashing a virus on the entire world. Getting the countrys of the world who lost thousands of people together to tell China that they better back off is much easier now that they are in a weakened state!
Not to mention the Three Gorges Damn leaking.....
China is on no ropes.
As matter of fact their economy has had swift turn around and is growing faster than any other major economy.
Don’t kid yourself. They are more dangerous and more powerful than ever. Nobody needs another stupid war.
Yeah Mainland Bull Stuff artists, because everyone knows
the politburo has no plans to invade Taiwan in the not so
distant future.
I call Bull Stuff@
“Then who will eat General Tsos Chicken?”
Nobody, it’ll be fried to a crisp.
Be a damn shame if those Chinese Generals lost their mansions and luxury cars because of the communists.
South Korea is already a six month nuclear power; Japan is six weeks. Taiwan had a nuke program and gave it up because we demanded they do so, but could restart it. The Philippines are the only one on that list that actually need help in that direction.
Some thoughts. The weather is too bad between the end of October and the end of March for any large scale invasion of Taiwan. The Chinese would need to move tons of supplies and material into position first. If Chinese planes do not take the warn-off and fly over Taiwan and Taiwan does not shoot them down, then they have effectively surrendered without an invasion. If they do shoot them down and China does not take a reciprocal and harsher action Xi will lose face. No matter what, someone, probably lots of people, will die. This is a high stakes game.
On the other hand, China has put itself in a really bad position. They import 30% of their food in normal times. They have lost somewhere north of half their food crops this year. If the world embargoes China they are looking at starvation on a massive, Mao scale.
On the other, other hand. The way Chinese dictators have historically secured their positions is to focus the populace on an external war. Xi’s position is probably shakier than it ever has been. One of the problems with all of the power resting in his hands is, he also holds all the responsibility. And things are not going well for China.
Ummmm, no.
That cartoon came out in 1945.
Prior to WWII, Germany was Hollywood's largest overseas market. Most studios went to great lengths to keep in the Nazi's good graces, so they could keep their films on German screens, and keep the money rolling in.
Want to guess who is Hollywood's largest overseas market today?
