Trending: Trump tops Biden, 48% to 47%, with 52% approval rating

As the election season enters its last week, President Trump is on the move, ahead of Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden in Monday’s debut of the daily Rasmussen Reports head-to-head poll.

In its now daily White House Watch, Rasmussen has Trump at 48% and Biden at 47%, the latest sign that the election has tightened in the 11th hour.

What’s more, the pollster Trump prefers to follow and tout has his approval rating at 52%, a key factor to winning reelection. Former Presidents George W. Bush and Barack Obama were both at 50% when they edged out reelection victories.

The poll data showed Trump building an unusual coalition. For example, 27% of black people said they would choose the president if the election were held today. In 2016, he won 8% of the black vote.

Also, Trump is doing better with Republicans than Biden is with Democrats. Rasmussen said that 84% of Republicans would choose Trump, while 77% of Democrats would vote for Biden.

Trump will probably not get 27% of the black vote. Mid teens I’d have thought which is double what he got in 2016.
But Trump will get more than the 84% of the Republican vote this poll says he is getting. He should easily get over 90% of the Republican vote.

Lot’s of “Disapprovers” in my family that are voting for........ Trump. Won’t wear the hat, won’t put up a sign, will laugh at anti-Trump jokes.
......but when asked will say “Reluctantly, ...for Trump, don’t like his tweets, but WHERE ELSE CAN I GO?

Yes, he should be pushing Dems to change their vote, which there is still time to do, ...though it is a hassle, more or less, depending on state rules.

The very hardest core hard-core Trump voters are not difficult to poll, they are _impossible_ to poll.

They will not answer pollster’s questions—period.

Life is simple when you know the rules.

President Trump seems to have reached a new normal for him in this Rasmussen measure. He will probably be squiggling back in forth in the 50 to 53% range for the next week. This is like his range in the two weeks between September 10 and 25.

The best thing that Republicans can do right now is to get out and vote early wherever it is allowed. These numbers are currently contradicting the polls in some places and are undermining Democrat efforts to discourage Republicans with negative polls.

The TIPP poll gives Trump only eight or 9% on the internals for African-American...

Exit polls had Trump at 8% in 2016, so it is at least consistent with that. Whether it is appropriate for 2020 is another matter. I imagine the percentage for black females (4% in 2016) won't budge much, but black males (13% in 2016) could approach 20%.

The fake polls are not driving the voters to Biden. They know Biden is going to go down big. They will now try to paint the election just a bit in favor of Trump to save what is left of their credibility.

Biden is going down Mondale Style. He may lose New York and California.

If Trump takes 27% of the black vote, the democrats are not just toast, they’re burnt toast.

"[DING-DING-DING!] ... That's racist!"

Nope. But even if it were racist (which it's not), it'd be racist against people with sunburns. My outdoor garden and indoor bowling alley are both racist, too, so what do I know?

Hint: It's 2020, an election year, so literally everything is "systemically racist." But never fear, it will soon be 2021, the election year will have ended, and all that "systemic racism" will instantly, magically disappear, as usual. I have a sneaking suspicion, though, that "systemic racism" will spontaneously reappear again in, oh I don't know ......... 2024! Just a hunch.

Who on this forum didn’t know that this would happen?

Sorry, my state is bluer than blue with a red rebellion starting up due to Dictator Newsom at the helm. Maybe someday, but likely not this year.

NY and California, not likely. Likely to be a similar EV win for Trump, perhaps with a surprise pick up, or two, or same numbers if he can’t keep all battleground states he won last time (PA is a worry)...we may not like it but Dems are energized for this election, but so are R’s. Dems #s may be better than anticipated since so many voted early by mail...I wouldn’t be surprised if there was a fair amount of buyer’s remorse on the D side with the recent info dump on the Bidens.

It's only unusual to biggoted Democrats who expect 100% of the Black vote.

Trending: Trump tops Biden, 48% to 47%, with 52% approval rating

That poll result will so infuriate one specific person (no, not Hilarious, although she will be ticked) that he will decide to run for the Presidency himself in four years:

"Soros in 2024!"
Er, ahem, [cough-cough] ...
Soros: What? What is it?
Um, you weren't born in the U.S., so you can't run for the Presidency.
Soros: Oh damn! I give up! I just can't catch a break in the U.S.! I guess I better go back to destabilizing & dismantling countries in Eastern Europe, after all, that's my real specialty. Do you think my native Hungary will welcome me back with open arms?

It's nice to take a lead in the overall poll but in truth, President Trump is likely re-elected at -4 or -3 in the national poll. Biden will build up big majorities in CA, IL, and the NE inflating that national number but gaining him no additional electoral votes.

I'd love to see President Trump win the popular vote so a mandate could be asserted. However, you can ask "President" Hillary Clinton if winning the popular vote is more important than winning the electoral vote.

People in California are fed up with Newsome. I think the red turnout will be 80% and the blue turnout will be around 40%. The only Dems that will vote for Biden are the ones who are totally TDS level 5 or more.

I think Trump can pull it off. Enthusiasm is the key. Everyone I know is excited as He££ to vote for Trump. I don’t know anyone who is actually in favor of Biden. They just hate Trump. They won’t vote.
