Israeli officials believe Oman is next in line to normalize relations with Israel in the near future, following the Jewish states blitz of deals with the United Arab Emirates, Bahrain, and most recently Sudan, according to a report Saturday.
Channel 12 said sources in the government claimed an announcement was even potentially possible before the US presidential election on November 3rd, though they stressed it could take more time, as Muscat would likely wait to see where political winds are blowing in Washington before making any major decisions...
Meanwhile, Channel 12 also reported that Mossad Chief Yossi Cohen has stated he believes Saudi Arabia will normalize ties with Israel, but will do so after the US election, to capitalize fully on such a decision with whoever is the next president.
The report said Israel believes any such Saudi decision will be cushioned by a significant arms deal with Washington...
Netanyahu said: We brought three peace deals in six weeks. Its not luck, its not coincidence but the result of clear policy...
On Friday US President Donald Trump predicted that Saudi Arabia would soon forge ties with Israel...
Trump said at least another five Arab nations wanted to join the diplomatic bandwagon, which saw the inking of similar agreements involving Bahrain and the UAE last month.
We have at least five that want to come in, Trump told reporters in the White House.
We expect Saudi Arabia will be one of those countries, he added...
We will be signing many nations over the next coming weeks and months, including some very big ones, said Trump. And the Palestinians, by the way, if you ask about the Palestinians, theyre wanting to do something. They have never seen anything like this. Theyre wanting to do something. Im sure that will get done too.

The only thing Joe Biden will ever be president of is Del Boca Vista Phase III.
Didn’t realise Qaboos had died.
I remember when the British gently pushed his father to abdicate, they were afraid his “traditional” ways would encourage support for the Soviet backed communist agitators.
Example; Criminals were often put in holes in the ground with a grating above them, fed scraps and so on. When he was told that was cruel and would inflame public opinion he was most indignant saying they didn’t last long enough to suffer much !!
Qaboos did a great job indeed.
Oman is good but minor. Saudi? If that happens before Election Day, it’s a game changer for an Trump landslide. In any case, the Saudis are a game changer for Israel.
People were voting Democrat for a long while before then.
I was deployed to Thumrait during the 1st Gulf War. I agree with you about the people but no one would consider Thumrait to be beautiful.
At this rate, Kushner & Trump will SHARE the Nobel Peace Prize in 2021.
Effectively killing the two state solution.
You think he can beat Kramer?
I hearby praise Jared Kushner.
Yay.
That might be a first on FreeRepublic.
Morty Seinfeld wanted to install Cosmo Kramer in a puppet regime and wield power from behind the scenes.
Maybe:
Hillary Clinton wants to install Joe Biden in a puppet regime and wield power from behind the scenes.
Yes, Hillary will wield power at Del Boca Vista Phase III via Joe Biden.
It’s the only way she’ll break the glass ceiling.
Then, she’ll move to annex Poulan and her stock will rise...high!!!
This is wonderful news. Oman is an Ibadi country - Ibadi is the third major branch of Islam after Sunnis and Shias.
They generally try to be neutral in the Middle East and have had relations with Israel for decades, but now they will come out openly about it.
This doesn’t have a direct impact on Saudia - Oman is not a Saudi client state like Bahrain, nor an ally like the UAE.
But Oman is influential with both Saudia and Iran as the middle man.
If Oman normalizes the relationship with Israel, I expect to see Iran stop it’s anti-Israel slogans and actions. Iran gains nothing directly by being anti-Israel (in fact it loses out on trade etc.) - but it thought that being anti-Israel would curry the “Arab street”.
If the “Arab street” is now pro-Israel, then Iran gains nothing. It can concentrate its rhetoric on its real enemies in the region - Saudia and Turkey.
