Two days after touching down on asteroid Bennu, NASA's OSIRIS-REx mission team received on Thursday, Oct. 22, images that confirm the spacecraft has collected more than enough material to meet one of its main mission requirements -- acquiring at least 2 ounces (60 grams) of the asteroid's surface material.

A brazen example of Colonialist theft of indigenous resources. Protest demonstration in Trumps hotel lobby at noon. Bring stink bombs, glock, and flame throwers? Sponsored by DNC/BLM. Burn loot and mayhem! Show the rich oppressive kapitalist white pigs 🐷 we wont take it anymore.Liberate the Asteroids! Asteroid Power! / s

No. It’s “Liberate Hemorrhoids, not Asteroids”. So many Democrats need immediate relief because they need to clear their heads in order to think straight (or gay).

Whoever designed the collection tool has obviously never used a shovel. 2 ounces for all that money? Pathetic.

Sorry but I get disgusted when I watch all the beta boys at NASA giggle like little girls when a rover uses scoop that resembles something a child would use on top of a wimpy robotic arm pathetically scrapping up a millimeter of soil.
What is wrong with using a pound of C4 to make a crater and then scoop up buckets of soil?

The article states that
"All data so far suggest that the collector head is holding much more than 2 ounces of regolith."One of the main mission requirements was to obtain at least 2 ounces of material, and I think they were just confirming that they had achieved that minimum.

A lot of old-timers have checked their poop-kicking boots in for wings&talons.
Saw a special recently on the craft and machinery involved in obtaining a sample,, pretty slick..
We’ll see who is around in 2023 when it gets back here.
