Michigans secretary of state wants voters to leave their guns at home this Election Day or at least keep them 100 feet from any building containing polling places.
On Friday, Jocelyn Benson issued guidance directed at local election officials clarifying that the open carry of guns on Election Day in, or close to, any voting locations polling places, clerks offices and absent voter counting boards is banned.
The open carry of a firearm is prohibited in a polling place, in any hallway used by voters to enter or exit, or within 100 feet of any entrance to a building in which a polling place is located, according to the directive.

Idiotic.
Doesn’t sound kosher to me.
I think the message is to keep your gun concealed while voting. ;)
but Rioters can be right in your face ?
So the MI SOS suddenly has legislative authority? Who knew?
its not...since when can the Secretary of State make gun laws??....Sheriffs all over Michigan are already saying this will not be enforced....man, we elected 3 feminazis in 2018...Whitmer...Nessel..Benson...its like a coven of witches here. Thank God the republicans kept the House and the Senate.
Put the gun in your pocket and carry on.
(That's one scenario I see -> depends how sociopathic they are and how far behind Biden really is and how much they think they can cover that with less rash action.)
Most states have laws against political posters, shirts, etc., within 100 feet of a polling place.
You can make a fair argument that open carry is as form of political expression, and has no place in a polling place.
When a leftist opens fire on voters in the early morning on November 3, he won’t be challenged, and this will allow the horror of the deaths to allow the governor to shut down ALL polling booths, making it impossible to have a fair election in the state.
It will be a far greater hindrance to the libtard socialists than law abiding conservatives. Who can conceal carry without problems.
Don’t you dare regally carry a gun into a place to do what the 2nd Amendment was created to protect?
AFAICT, there is no law prohibiting open carry at a polling place. So this just appears to be another unlawful edict by a person with no authority to make laws.
Legally.
F’g coders and their spellcheck.
That’s the way it reads to me too! “No open carry...”
So, concealed is the way to go, lol

To be honest, if I were to carry to the voting place, it would be deep concealed carry. If there are shenanigans, I don’t want the bad guy to know that I’m able to shoot back. I don’t want to be the primary target.
