The militia group whose members planned to kidnap Michigan Gov. Gretchen Whitmer (D) was attempting to instigate a civil war through attacks on the state Capitol building and targeting police officers, officials said Thursday.
Members of the group, identified by Michigan Attorney General Dana Nessel as the Wolverine Watchmen, are accused of crimes such as conducting surveillance outside of Whitmers vacation home, using code language and encrypted messages and putting a bomb under a bridge to distract police.
In total, 13 members were charged with felony crimes, including the six who were charged for the governor kidnapping plot, the Detroit Free Press reported.
Nessel described the members as extremists who were trying to gain members by seizing on a moment of civil unrest" in the U.S.
There has been a disturbing increase in anti-government rhetoric and the re-emergence of groups that embrace extremist ideologies, Nessel said at a press conference. "This is more than just political disagreement or passionate advocacy, some of these groups mission is simply to create chaos and inflict harm upon others.
Nessels announcement of charges against the seven additional members came after the FBI filed an affidavit on Thursday saying it stopped an attempt to abduct Whitmer in an alleged terror plot.
The six involved with the plans to kidnap Whitmer were charged with conspiracy to commit kidnapping. The affidavit named them as Adam Fox, Barry Croft, Ty Garbin, Kaleb Franks, Daniel Harris and Brandon Caserta.

...so ...? Boy scouts used to do this.
bomb under a bridge
... not so good ....
Completely insane when you think about it.
They used to catch russian spies, investigate bank robberies, and now all they do is politically biased shenanigans that...
I find that there isn’t a word adequate in the english language to describe the sheer lack of care for the Constitution and the country shown by the FBI’s behavior of the past few decades.
“Laws and ethics? What’s that? Honesty? Never heard of it!” - the feeb

Very high I would say.
Doesnt sound remotely like a militia group.
"Ransom of Red Chief" by O'Henry.
There are crazy people out there and FBI informants who both tend to instigate trouble.
“Can you say THE RANSOM OF RED CHIEF, children??” — “SURE you CAN.”

“Yeah, whatever.”
For sure.
Gretchen was going to get kidnapped? In other news, MLB is allowing 10,000 fans to attend the World Series games. Nice.
Wolverine Watchmen
Sounds like a name and plan hatched by 7 year old boys.
Six Arrested On Federal Charge Of Conspiracy To Kidnap The Governor Of Michigan
WOW! I didn’t realize until just this minute that Gretchen’s maiden name was SMOLLETT & that she was Jessie’s “long lost” sister??
LOL, TMN78247
I don’t doubt it.

Yup...no criminality except possibly—and that is a seventh inning stretch—for trespassing associated with “surveillance”
And it will bear fruit when Trump gets re-elected on November 3, 2020.
I’m saying this knowing I could be wrong, but there is so
much out there about how dirty the FBI has been over the
last 30 years, I’m sorry. My default is to give others
the benefit of the doubt until it’s crystal clear a
justified conviction is likely.
What was the bomb? An M-80? A string of fireworks?
There has been tens of thousands of acts of violence from
the Left over the last few months, but this is where the
FBI is focused?
How’s that investigation coming regarding who is financing
the terrorists?
Oh excuse me, peaceful protestors.,,
I hear ya.
I grew up idolizing the FBI. Ruby Ridge, Waco, and TWA-800
took care of that, but quick.
