The vice presidential debate is over. If the winner is the person who quietly dominated the room, fought off two antagonists, never lost focus, and landed one deadly blow after another, then the winner must be Mike Pence, hands down. However, if the score was for the person who lied incessantly and refused to answer a critical question, Harris is the winner.
Before getting to the lies, the most important moment of the evening was Harris's refusal to answer when asked about packing the Supreme Court. Pence had cornered Kamala, telling her to answer whether she and Joe would pack the Supreme Court. It was a question that required a "yes" or a "no" answer. Instead, Kamala squirmed, lied, smirked, and played the race card, all the while hoping no one would notice she hadn't answered. Pence noticed, though, and he put it on the record:
"Once again, you gave a nonanswer...American people deserve a straight answer. If you haven't figured it out yet, the straight answer is yes, they're going to pack the Supreme Court." – @Mike_Pence hits @KamalaHarris on not directly answering court packing question. pic.twitter.com/FwTmxXBBwv— Washington Examiner (@dcexaminer) October 8, 2020
And then, as I said, there were the lies. Pence masterfully rebutted as many as he could, but an easily uttered five-second lie may require a longer rebuttal, and the moderator worked hard to deny Pence the chance to correct the record. The following are just some truths to rebut Kamala's many lies:
Trump never called the Wuhan virus a "hoax."
Trump never called American troops "losers" and "suckers."
It's a lie that Trump praised white supremacists at Charlottesville. He's repeatedly denounced white supremacy, including at the last debate. If Kamala's looking for a racist, she should look at Biden.

There was no serious evidence of a Russian bounty on U.S. troops.
Trump did not call Mexicans "rapists."
There was no "Muslim ban." Instead, Trump relied on information the Obama administration created about terrorist nations and banned those nations pending greater security measures.
Biden's response to H1N1 was a disaster, and the U.S. was saved only by luck.
On the virus, Trump acted fast, saved lives by stopping travel from China (over Biden's objections), made America's outdated test system functional, earned praise from beleaguered Democrat governors, used the Defense Production Act to provide everything medical teams needed, and killed pointless regulations blocking the development of treatments and vaccinations.
Why are the Democrats so fixated on that Charlottesville event? Trump has repeatedly condemned “white supremacists” and “racists”, but the Democrats pretend he has never done so.
That keeps coming up again and again. Meanwhile, the Democrats never mention ongoing violence in the name of “racial justice” which has plagued so many cities since late May and the George Floyd incident.
Because Trump is making serious in-roads with minorities.
I’m sure the official Fact Checkers will immediately debunk any claim that Kamala told an untruth.
Get off her back.

Let someone else in
Pence did an impressive job debating a highly skilled opponent in Kamala Harris. It was apparent that Harris came to the debate with an aggressive agenda to deliver the knock-out punch to the Trump campaign.
She failed to do that, and Pence delivered decisive counter-strikes on at least three fronts: 1) Kayla Mueller, 2) George Floyd, and 3) court-packing.
On Mueller and Floyd, Pence deftly utilized attending audience members at the Utah debate to turn the question painfully upon the Biden campaign to force concession and conciliatory rhetoric in deference to Pence’s strong points. Harris had to acknowledge the Mueller family and apologize for the failure to kill Baghdadi under the Obama/Biden administration. It was powerful and an exceptional piece of debating skill.
On court-packing, Pence played moderator, and, incredibly, Harris took the bait and allowed herself to be reeled in on Pence’s line. She agreed to answer the question and then refused to answer the question. It was a stunning turn of events for a debater with her prosecutorial skills.
YOU CAN BE CERTAIN THAT IF BIDEN WINS, THEY *WILL* CREATE A PLAN TO PACK THE COURTS, THEY HAVE REPEATEDLY REFUSED TO ANSWER THE QUESTION POSED TO THEM — TAKE THAT AS A ‘YES’.
Now to the moderator....
Susan Page did better than the disastrous Chris Wallace but was able to violate a basic premise of good debate: equal time. Despite suggesting during her moderation that both sides should receive equal time, she delivered more than three minutes of extra speaking time to Kamala Harris.
That was a more than ten-percent advantage in speaker time to team Biden/Harris, and Page disproportionately interrupted Pence at key points of insurgent rhetoric by the vice president. This tactic of giving Democrats extra speaking time harkens back to the practices of 2012, where team Obama/Biden were given extra time in all four debates compared to McCain/Ryan.
The media has never stopped talking about Charlottesville and never adequately covered Democrats killing Trump supporters or the Democrat who attempted to kill several Republican congressmen.
Kamaltoe is an inspiration for your women everywhere. She has proven that the only way to make it is by having a Sugar Daddy. Willie Brown must be proud of his girl.
Although I thought Pence handled that quite well, the Charlottesville situation really is infuriating. Trump has said all the right things, repeatedly, from the beginning. For, like, three years. And the media still pretends that he's a blatant supporter of Nazis. It's awful.
AND she spent a great deal of time asking Pence not to talk so much.
I dont recall a single thing that Willies girl toy said that was factual.
I trust CNN. [/s]
Others have provided different figures.
RE: Others have provided different figures.
OK, Let’s set CNN aside. Can you share with us what others said regarding amount of time each candidate was allowed to speak?
I think Pence did Great lets see her or Biden debate KANYE.
I can’t find it but numerous threads today reported that Harris spoke for 3 minutes more than Pence.
Just on its face, I find it hard to believe CNN when they report that the moderator did such a perfect job that one candidate spoke a mere 3 seconds more than the other. That’s an “unbelievable” level of fairness.
And my own observation, the moderator, on several occasions told Pence he had “fifteen seconds to respond”. WHAT? Maybe Harris was told that too but I remember HER being told that she had “thirty seconds to respond”.
..she kept referring to Biden as “Joe”—like he is family dog...
