A record-breaking ruling for the family of Bob Levinson, a former FBI Agent who vanished while in Iran 13-years ago. Thursday, a U.S. judge ruled Iran must pay Levinson's family $1.46 billion, the largest judgement for a case of this kind...
Levinson disappeared in 2007 while working as a CIA contractor in Iran. His family immediately called on (Atty. David) McGee, who was Levinson's friend, to help bring him home...
Earlier this year, Levinson's family announced they were convinced the husband and father of seven was dead. In a statement, they said the judgement was the "the first step in the pursuit of justice."
"This judgement is the first step in the pursuit of justice for Robert Levinson, an American patriot who was kidnapped and subjected to unimaginable suffering for more than 13 years. He was the greatest man we have ever known, and he should be alive today - home with his wife, children, and grandchildren. Instead, he died in Iranian custody, and our family will never be whole again. Until now, Iran faced no consequences for its actions. Judge Kelly's decision won't bring Bob home, but we hope it will serve as a warning against further hostage taking by Iran. We thank the court for its consideration in the case, and we hope no other family ever has to go through the living nightmare our family has gone through."
McGee says the work to get Iran to pay the judgement has just began. It's a process that he believes could take years. And, he insists he's holding onto hope that his friend may still be alive.

*** We don’t torture and murder spies if that is what you are driving at. ***
Could you clarify “we”?
Drone strikes kill more civilians than anything. This ruling may open the door for compensation for all of the civilian casualties and their families. Not a good idea IMO.

The Iranians would have little or no interest in Levinson and would have deported him or traded him for the five Iranian “diplomats” we captured in Kurdistan in 2007. That didn’t happen, would have if the Iranians had him. They don’t.
Levinson testified against (1998) and had been pursuing Sergei Mikhailov, the most powerful Russian mafia boss in the world. Mikhailov is widely known for silencing witnesses and investigators. Mikhailov is deeply involved in cigarette smuggling and counterfeiting in Iran and has many operatives/soldiers there.
Levinson definitely went into harms way when he went to Iran. These Russians are the wrong people to meet and they get even.

Try the name Daoub or something like that re the suspect. Also try “Donald Cox”, Black Panther Party leader as a prime suspect in the Tabatabai assassination.
More to this story than anyone knows. I’ll try to fill in some details when you check out the two names I gave you.
Might as well be a gazillion dollars. Same chance of collecting a penny.
Sure we dont. Because we publicize every time we catch a spy.
And the bloody money went and goes to Hezbollah, Quds force, Houthis butchery and intrnational spy operations...
My argument against them getting the money was that it wasn't theirs. It was the government of the Shah of Iran's money. They overthrew the Shah, and set up their own government. The pukes Obama paid weren't in power at the time the money was paid, and had no right to it.
The rotting pile of Musloid Halfrican dog squeezins.
___________
Thats a keeper.
“Obama and Kerry gave the money away to Iran. Illegally.”
...and just in time...!
Perfect!
Thanks for that addition
Speaking of oligarchs/mafia involved in tobacco... Levinson went to Iran reportedly on behalf of British American Tobacco...

In the race to come up with a viable vaccine for the novel coronavirus, many groups around the world have been diving into the effort with a great sense of urgency. Various hospitals, universities and even bio-tech companies (some of whom have never produced a vaccine before) have gotten in on the action. But Ill confess that I didnt anticipate hearing about tobacco companies entering the competition. And yet, here we are. One of the biggest tobacco companies in the world, British American Tobacco, has somehow developed a vaccine that they say shows great promise and theyre ready to...
