The New York City Council voted overwhelmingly Monday to expel Bronx lawmaker Andy King after the Democrat was hit by a third set of ethics charges, saying he once again misused government funds and mistreated his staff.
The Council easily mustered the two-thirds majority needed, voting 48-2 to boot King from his job representing the 12th District at City Hall.
King now holds the ignominious distinction of being the first city politician booted from the lawmaking body in modern history without first being convicted of a crime.

Imagine being such a scumbag you get kicked off the council of scumbags
Wow, the New York City Council actually booted a Democrat over ethics charges??? Take cover, folks, were about to get hit with the first of the seven plagues.
“The motion to expel was opposed only by King and one of his Bronx colleagues, Councilman Ruben Diaz Sr.”
Guess who’s next?
Good grief... It’s Sheila Jackson Lee in a suit! The pic of him speaking at the council meeting, with glasses on, looks just like her!
LOL
New York City Council expels Bronx's Andy King over ethics charges. Wait, what? Is this supposed to be a joke?
The next thing you know, dogs and cats will be living together!
I guess that he forgot to grease the palms of the rest of the Council.
Looks like a hustler...
Of course he is one!! LOL!!
I'd guess he will be Mayor of some DEM city soon....
The bipartisan ethics panel (one member per borough) must be exasperated by this serial scofflaw and relieved to finally be rid of him...
They smacked King in 2018 for harassing a female Council aide, ordering him to sensitivity training. Didn't work.
He was back in 2019 for retaliation against the same woman as well as retaliation against other aides who had cooperated with ethics probers. The panel's 48-page report also determined that King misused taxpayer funds for a Virgin Islands jaunt and let his union boss wife use his Council office for her own purposes.
His Council-approved punishment: tossed off all committees and suspended without pay for a month. He was fined $15,000 and told to take a behavior training course. Further, he was subject to a monitor, a Council staff attorney, for the rest of his term. Didn't work...
the Ethics Committee found that King never paid the fine, never took the course and interfered with the monitor when he wasn't intimidating her. King also forced an aide to take unwanted medical leave while arranging a $2,000 cash kickback from another aide.
In 1979, the Ethics Committee recommended expelling Queens Councilman Eugene Mastropieri. The Council chickened out, but Mastropieri ended up in prison.
Toss King today, and don't be surprised if his future isn't similarly bleak.Out for the count: Bye bye to a City Council serial offender Andy King | New York Daily News | Editorial Board | Oct 05, 2020
As low an opinion as we have of the NYC's media rootweevils, the city's newspapers are indeed unrelenting in their scrutiny of the various ne'er-do-wells (most of them Demwits) who try to cling like dingleberries to the butt-hairs of the corruptocracy.
Meet the new boss!
