RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) When many people envision Thanksgiving they think of large family dinners followed by Black Friday shopping sprees.
However, with the coronavirus pandemic still at large, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention is recommending people alter their celebrations this year with safety in mind. This includes smaller gatherings and not traveling for the holiday.
Thanksgiving is a time when many families travel long distances to celebrate together, the CDC said on its website. Travel increases the chance of getting and spreading the virus that causes COVID-19. Staying home is the best way to protect yourself and others. If you must travel, be informed of the risks involved.
The CDC has ranked actives into three categories lower risk, moderate risk, and higher risk.
Heres how the CDC ranks each Thanksgiving tradition:

Right there with you, fall turkey season falls over Thanksgiving...coincidence I think not. I’ll be turkey and hog hunting over Thanksgiving there’s been some cases of chronic wasting disease in deer in my area so I’m be skipping the local venison till the true extent of the prevalence of it is known.
Happens all the time on FR.
Grow a thicker skin or go to DU.
“Linus, you blockhead, you got the rona-shakes or somethin’?”
“Rona...or...no rona...Gotta...catch...Great Pumpkin!”
Zackly. Without the glasses, they read: Maintain social distance. Wear yer maks. Trump is a racist. Black Lives Matter.
Just go away CDC.
Go bleep yourself CDC.
Wish someone on our side did a better job putting this crap down since March. Our country really needed leadership since then.
The Left gained control in March. Trump and the Republicans didn’t counteract. This is when the country died. :(

What, in your estimation, will be our concerns?
The CDC can stick its Thanksgiving guidelines up its turkey ass!
One is a favor for the guy with a family....the other I'm just scheduled.
I live alone...with two dogs and some cattle.
Have some good times with your family....my FRiend.
This year the average moron has been trained to wear masks and be very afraid.... Normally they are trained to believe that biting someone’s ear off fighting over a reindeer scarf at 5 AM after Thanksgiving is something you shouldn’t want to miss out on
So stupid!
Getting the family together from far away is what it’s all about.
I’ll be traveling from my safe area to a moderate-risk area.
I’ll “quarantine” when I return to keep my neighbors safe.
To a point.
We truly live forever!!!
Let’s just get through Nov. 5. I think worse case that sh*t will get real.
We have enough stupid sheep in this country who think this directive is just dandy! F-ing idiots!
Yeah “ new normal “ is the most hateful, stupid meme ever.
Temporary adjustments for the outbreak are just that- temporary.
By vaccine, or whatever, we’ll live “normally”- like humans.
“They are going after everything that gives us cultural identity and really, aggressively trying to give us the new normal that has broken ties with our past and our society.”
Exactly. Soon they’ll be waking us all up to perform exercises in front of our tv’s or smart phones as they bark commands at us because we’re sitting around in our homes too much while they destroy what’s left of the country. We really are in a “1984” bizzaro world.
If you can’t handle my post.. too bad for you.
Heh, I get enough exercise in the garden growing our own food and have neither a smart phone or smart TV.
And how are we going to be able to tell the difference between them and the usual looting at the peaceful protests that weve been seeing the last few months.
Itll just be business as usual.
No such thing in my book as I will NEVER accept it as normal.
