The number of homebuyers purchasing apartments in Manhattan has dropped significantly by 46 per cent, with many instead flocking to the New York suburbs and to Florida.

According to data from Compass, some 10,000 homes are currently up for sale in Manhattan, a new record.

Even before the pandemic, there was a glut of high-end apartments needing to be sold in the city. But the inventory of unsold apartments does continue to rise as new listings continue to hit the market, CNBC reports.

Does Staten Island count as the suburbs?

I wonder if they will come here and ruin our nice conservative south shore.

I wonder how many of those fleeing vote democrat straight down the line. This reminds me of Muslims fleeing countries run under Sharia law then when they get here they demand Sharia law.

Of the complete miss management of the Democrat cities during this. I think the two who have the most are the leader ship of Minneapolis Minnesota and DeBlasio in New York City. And cuomo

The fact that that city the financial capital of the world is at the mercy of this communist dictator to me shows how coward the people are of government

it’s amazing to watch

All of Midtown Manhattan is boarded up still

Businesses that have now been closed for six months have actually finally determined that we’re leaving

And so when the budget deficit is five or $6 billion and Deblasio is begging for money and scratching his head

I will be one to laugh

New York state is not New York City

Not by a long long shot

The Catskills the Adirondacks even Westchester certainly Albany Binghamton and Buffalo have nothing to do with New York City

Hmmmmmmmm. Looks to me like they soon will not be needing as many representatives in the House of Representatives.

We can Definitely win this house seat back.

But if manhattan liberals come flooding in...we’ll never win it back.

Now I know how southerners and heartland folks feel about invaders.

When Obama was an Illinois Senator he and Bill (step on the American flag) Ayers had gained total control of the distribution of funds from the Annenberg foundation which they passed its millions on to lefty fronts offering courses to Illinois and Chicago schools pushing the what soon would be the BLM agenda.

Author and investigative reporter Stanley Kurtz should be asked about this when interviewed about socialist plans for the suburbs. For at that time when Obama was doing this he tried to expose those radical left study programs over a program held by WGN radio but was threatened by protesters who prevented a co-hearent presentation. Those who live in Chicago already voted at their local public library. But in the reshaped 3rd Congressional district Daniel Lipinski lost because of redistricting. Of a district which had previously included adjacent Chicago city wards to his 23rd.

That was a district in the 1950’s which was a part of the third largest school district in the country run by the Catholic Archdiocese of Chicago. Those city wards were primarily composed of dozens of traditional value family oriented Catholic/Christian communities centered around churches and their schools. Hence opposed to funding such things as abortion and LGBT activities rather that dealt exclusively with city issues such as a subway L service and the Stevenson Expressway.

These Wards were reliable supporters of Dan’s father, William O Lipinski. But where many had areas with hispanic last names those areas were redistricted and assigned to the Gutieriez’s district. Where areas where buildings were abandoned affected by the no money down home mortgages or had changed because of this.

The ward such as the 14th was remapped to include portions of other wards mainly the 23rd which Those results are posted below which actually tear up the concept of a neighborhood and pit people against each other by using division. In some of those wards areas of city blocks which were zoned exclusively for single family dwellings residents suddenly found their neighborhood having houses torn down and being replaced with multiple apartments with the units not required to furnish parking facilities and many renters were illegals. Much of which fit the plans for the suburbs

New York State claims to be unlike New York City.

They can prove it by erecting the "Escape From New York" Wall around that Foreign City.

All of Midtown Manhattan is boarded up still

I work on Lexington Avenue near Grand Central. When I was in the office last week, I was surprised to see ground broken for a residential high rise on 47th Street between Lex and 3rd Ave.

Some people might think Staten Island is a suburb, even though we know it is within the city limits of New York City.

I remember visiting relatives in Forest Hills many years ago, and they said they liked the neighborhood and it had a suburban character. They thought of Queens and Forest Hills as being distinct and separate from Manhattan.
