Retired four-star general Stanley McChrystal endorses Biden

Retired four-star Gen. Stanley McChrystal has endorsed Joe Biden for the White House, citing his time working with the former vice president under the Obama administration and saying the Democratic nominee is "someone that you can trust."

McChrystal, speaking on MSNBC Thursday morning, said Biden “is humble enough to listen to experts, is humble enough to respect people who serve and have served.”

“I think that he would surround himself with an effective team of good people, I think he would set a tone in which he would bring out the best of people. Again, not everyone will agree with every policy, nobody ever will, and that’s healthy in a democracy. But we have to believe in our values, you have to believe that your commander in chief at the end of the day is someone that you can trust. And I can trust Joe Biden,” McChrystal added when asked if he thinks Biden would be a better commander in chief than President Trump.

McChrystal is best known for his role as the former commander of U.S. and international forces in Afghanistan. He is currently a senior fellow at Yale University’s Jackson Institute for Global Affairs.

The Biden campaign touted McChrystal as joining a group of nearly 500 top military and national security officials who have already thrown their support behind the Democratic presidential nominee.

McChrystal is Chairman of the Board of Siemens Government Technologies, and is on the strategic advisory board of Knowledge International, a licensed arms dealer whose parent company is EAI, a business “very close” to the United Arab Emirates government.[79] He co-founded and is a partner at McChrystal Group, an Alexandria, Virginia-based consulting firm.[80][81] His philosophy of leadership and building stronger organizations is quoted in the bestselling book by Daniel Levitin The Organized Mind.

On January 8, 2013, McChrystal appeared on MSNBC’s Morning Joe program, in which he endorsed stronger U.S. gun control laws, saying that assault weapons were for the battlefield, not schools or streets.[87]

After the report was made public, the White House tapped McChrystal to head a new advisory board to support military families, an initiative led by First Lady Michelle Obama and Jill Biden, wife of the vice president. The selection of McChrystal was announced on April 12, four days after the inspector general’s report was finished.[73]

On November 16, 2016 the subject rejected the offer to be the President-Elect’s first choice of Secretary of Defense saying, ‘I’ve been watching the campaign and I don’t think I’d be a good fit for the ...team. I don’t think I would be happy. Also, I’m not sure you’d be happy...’[95]

On October 1, 2020, on the Morning Joe program, Gen. McChrystal endorsed Joe Biden for President.[96]

He and the rest of his ilk are protecting their post-retirement gigs. After witnessing what the Obama administration did to the military, no responsible general officer would endorse anyone connected with Obama. Money talks, and bullsh*t walks.

McChrystal is best known for his role as the former commander of U.S. and international forces in Afghanistan.

That war was a great boon to military contractors and the war machine.

Cost billions - produced nothing for our country and nothing for the people who live her...

The war's been going on for twenty years... total waste of American blood and treasure ... BUT on the bright side people like McChrystal were treated to 'great respect' by Presidents... McChrystal had Bush and Obama put on their serious faces and nod with appreciation. The General felt big... big man...

Isn't that worth the blood of American's young? Isn't that worth the treasure of our country?

Silly wars, massive war machine and buttered up brass...

“Just remember, Obama got rid of every officer over the rank of O-4 who gave a hint of being Conservative.”

Ahh, I think obama missed one. If BlackFemaleArmyColonel is indeed a genuine Army 05 or 06.

McChrystal was profiled some years back on SeeBS Sunday morning.

This dirt bag was advocating for the banning of semi-automatic rifles, etc.

He is a lying leftist.

So many good men died in Afghanistan, but this dirt bag came through unscathed.

He is a DIRTY DEMOCRAT!! No WONDER we don’t WIN WARS!

In the old days commies in our country hated the military because the military defended the country.

But now?

Now that the military weakens our country with silly wars - and pushes the left's social agenda and commies in our country love them... Commies are playing them for fools...

Can't remember all the wrongdoers but I think it was General McChrystal who took a photo of General Lee off his wall and trashed it after his wife told him to do it.

Then he bragged about it. Not much of a man; but you don't get to sit at the desk of a general without being good at something.

“ I guess it doesn’t take a whole lot of brains to be a general.”

It certainly doesn’t take any strength of character or moral fortitude these late days.

This is true. As well, the President can ask for their retirement at any time.

I think that he would surround himself with an effective team of good people

He picked Kamala Harris as his running mate to be Vice President - that's already evidence that is not what would occur. He also pledged to put Beto O'Rourke in charge of gun control.

“ Brilliant engineer but at some point she drank the koolaid.”

In ALL government “service” you have to drink the kool-aid or you dont get advanced. It’s a closed system for government class leftists only. That’s why the swamp is the swamp...and the swamp goes nationwide into state and local government.

Yeah, the Dems will get us in a nice, long war that he can make a fat post-retirement salary from as a DoD contractor board member. Surprised if he’s not already doing that.
