Hollywood stars ripped Fox News’ Chris Wallace for his role as the moderator of the first presidential debate on Tuesday, saying that the news anchor was too timid and lost control of the proceedings as President Donald Trump took control of the stage through sheer force of will.
Chris Wallace — who repeated that false Charlottesville “very fine people” hoax and erroneously referred to critical race theory as “racial sensitivity training”– had trouble maintaining even a semblance of order as President Donald Trump went on the offensive, dominating the show by aggressively interrupting and heckling Joe Biden.
Celebrities seemed frustrated that Wallace was unable to rein in President Trump, who took a steam-roller approach to the debate, dominating the proceedings through locomotive-size force.
Bette Midler tweeted that “Chris Wallace is a wuss.”
Actress Kerry Washington tweeted, “Is there an understudy who can step in and play the role of moderator?!”
Veep star Julia Louis-Dreyfus urged Wallace to “get control” over the debate.
The West Wing star Bradley Whitford joked that Wallace would “be a terrible substitute teacher.”
Scrubs star Zach Braff called Wallace the “worst.”
Seinfeld writer Larry Charles simply tweeted, “Wallace sucks.”

LOL, I joked at one point, we’ll see “Wallace 2020” bumper stickers on the road.
To sum it up, he was a terrible choice. This isn't his talk show on FOX where people play by his rules.
This was an argument for the fate of the country.

Many called the debate juvenile or a brawl but I prefer that to the ones that put you to sleep and you don’t know anymore than before it happened.
We're going to have to agree to disagree there FRiend. I'd rather have a "boring" debate where both candidates are well-informed and use facts rather than emotion to support their arguments. Yes, I know I'm in fantasyland there. For all the drama and posturing I didn't learn anything from the debate I didn't already know about the candidates.

It would be better if the mic is turned off when the candidate is not speaking. Otherwise it is a televised Twitter fight.
I never heard of half of those people. Still, it’s good that they think Biden lost. If they think that, then their sheep admirers will think the same.
I saw this earlier on Breitbart and was confused as to why they put a picture of a Homeless guy that sells dope and the Hooker that works the corner a few blocks from here??
Where are all those Freeper Never-Trumpers who were clutching their pearls last night? You know, the ones who don’t comment for months and then fill up the comment pages when debates happen, telling how bad Trump is doing.
If the President can’t take control and fight, how will he best Putin and a Xi?
They know Trump kicked Biden’s ass so they want to blame the moderator instead of Biden.

Jeb couldn’t make it far enough to get to any debates last time and didn’t even try this time.
Biden got out-bullied.
You expect Trump to be a ‘bully’, Biden’s reputation was being weak, he wanted to come across as a tough guy. Trump wouldn’t let him. And Wallace didn’t help Biden, because Wallace did Biden’s fighting for him.
I said he failed at times to be even-handed (and always against Trump), but it could have been worse. A lot worse. Sensible people saw through what Chris did.
If you want “boring”, that’s where Pence comes in.
He will destroy Kamala, because of the four, Pence is the adult in the room. He will calmly point out Trump’s successes, while Kamala will be annoying.
That’s Trump’s saving grace.
I still say, Tim Kaine destroyed Hillary’s campaign by being so ridiculous in his debate against Pence.
