It was more sinister. Biden used the term “bunker”, which is a dog-whistle for Hitler-in-the-bunker. Must have been one of his handlers’ talking points for the debate.

If President Trump had said something this factually incorrect, Wallace would have challenged him. But no. President Trump was challenging all of the factual challenged statements Wallace and Biden were making, especially the whoppers Biden was repeating that Wallace wasn’t fact checking. If Wallace had done his job and asked fair questions, President Trump wouldn’t have had to be so argumentative. This debate deteriorated early with Wallace bending over backwards to give Biden an advantage. President Trump wasn’t having any of it. Way to go, Mr. President!

I think the Times had the taxes given to them surreptitiously by Trump allies with Trump’s knowledge. The Times may now be suspecting this and are feeling a little egg on their faces. Plus there is nothing illegal in what they found.
