Defiant protesters lined up and arrested and sent to city jail. If hundreds then use a chain link fenced yard by an abandoned building for processing the arrested ones. Use a stadium for booking and send them to available cells in other counties. It can be done.
What is wrong with that in preference to them burning a building with people still inside who got trapped inside, or their burning officers' eyes with laser beams? Jail for the guilty.
