1. Politics and social activists are always looking for an issue to exploit. They stir up the masses in some next apocalyptic disaster unless we vote for them. Example, Biden and his goofy ass mask. Global warming, acid rain, ozone hole... It’s always the same M.O: It’s an emergency that requires immediate attention or else all the rain forest will be chopped down, we will asphyxiate because the trees are all dead from acid rain, get skin cancer from an ozone hole...
2. Government is always willing to help. They will always jump on the band-wagon and save us from immediate extinction by writing more regulations and of course creating some form of tax. Of course government agencies protecting us need a bigger budget and more people to provide this new essential service in the war on drugs, against the corona virus, to make sure you don’t have a pair of seal skin boots as you cross the border or track how many decongestant pills you purchase. If it were not for a US government agency regulating everything, earth would begin to spin backwards, wobble and fall into the sun.
3. The news media of course is bias, but they are also always on the search for that next new story because their goal is to maximize viewers and sell commercial time. So hyperbole, controversy, conflict, shock, fear, greed, pop culture crap is what they sell. They will take whatever the trash of the day is and beat the drum 24/7 (if that gets people viewing).
4. Then you have the corporate interests that have learned to exploit these issues, from Du Pont which made billions off the ban of older refrigerants, subsidies to green businesses like Tesla, big pharma and their games with vaccines, etc.
But that is how it goes, and it will continue. Why you ask? Because just like we first crawl, walk and then learn to run, there is an endless supply of younger folks (they tend to be more susceptible to this nonsense) that lacking the wisdom get excited about the next big impending apocalypse, unless of course we vote for X, buy a Y, and watch it all unfold on network Z.
Madison said that “crisis is the cry of the tyrant.” I think we’re seeing that play out before our very eyes.
‘But that is how it goes, and it will continue.’
ye, it will go on forever; we may lose the masks sometime, but there will be some visible marker of compliance that will be forced on us...I’m thinking a symbol of vaccination will be next, so that person may go maskless with minimal intimidation...
