HARRISBURG, Pennsylvania -- Gov. Tom Wolf will go through with a veto of a bill that would give school districts the sole ability to make decisions on sports, including whether and how many spectators to allow, he said Monday.
The Wolf administration's gathering limits of 25 people indoors and 250 people outdoors apply to youth sports, but legislation that cleared the state House and Senate would empower schools to make their own rules about the number of spectators permitted at games.
Some families have chafed at the statewide limits, saying attendance could safely be expanded while still allowing for adequate physical distancing.
Wolf, a Democrat, said at a news conference that statewide gathering limits need to be applied consistently to prevent the spread of the coronavirus. Pennsylvania has reported more than 150,000 confirmed virus infections and 8,000 deaths attributed to COVID-19.

There is sufficient votes to override if the Democrats who voted for sports don’t defect.
Hell be overridden. Bill passed both houses with veto proof majority...
I dont see anyone changing their vote they know they will be destroyed In NOV if they do.
Wolf is an enemy of the constitution and the people. He and cousin it should have already been impeached
The legislature shouldn’t be forced to OVERRIDE temporary emergency powers with VETO proof majorities!
“Just give us 2 weeks to flatten the curve, folks. This is all very temporary.”
Herr Gruppenfuhrer Wolf, please explain why an outdoor ice hockey rink, which has little to no seating can have 250 people in attendance; while an indoor ice hockey rink with plenty of seats, is permitted only 25? And what about outdoor rinks with a roof - indoor or outdoor.
Hershey School (Lancaster), Hill School (Pottstown), Old York Road and Rizzo Rink (Philly) all have/had outdoor rinks. There are surely more that my kids played at over the years.
Nobody believes this including Wolf and his freakshow 'health director.'
This is like listening to heathens explain religion.
You go, PA General Assembly! Take away the tinpot dictators powers, bit by bit.
YOU represent the people of Pennsylvania, not d-bag Wolf.
Sic Sempre Tyrannis
Pennsylvania Ping!
Please ping me with articles of interest.
FReepmail me to be added to the list.
If these people cared as much about the business establishments and the schools in their state as they do about their stupid high school sports, we'd have a work force and an education system that would put Japan and Singapore to shame.
Wolf needs to learn that you never get between Pennsylvanians and their high-school football.
That being said, with threats and bribery he may be able to flip a few Dems and sustain this.
Yup
Are you actually from Alberta?
I have a cousin who lived there for a time.
She said their fanatical devotion to hockey there puts our football obsession to shame.
That being said, your observation is spot-on.
"Alberta's Child" is the name of a song. LOL.
Okay for NFL, NBA and MLB to have their sports but not HS kids???
If anyone is afraid of going to a sports event they have the option of not going. This a$$wipe POS governor and his butt buddy health secretary have no respect for our God given and constitutionally protected freedoms and liberties. His actions are the equivalent of a grammar school teacher punishing the entire class for the actions of one. I recognized that was unjust when I was in first grade and loathed the teacher for doing it. It’s a primary characteristic of leftists. I didn’t know what a leftist was when I was in first grade, but I could identify them and loathe them.
Yes, particularly Dem senators who aren’t up for re-election this year. I haven’t seen the list, but chances are at least 50% are not and they can count on voters to have a short memory.
I’ll say this for him. The Guv is doing everything he can to deliver PA to Trump!
