Something smells rotten on Staten Island — and it’s not the old dump.
Residents believe the stench is coming from Albany.
The borough’s beloved Joyce’s Tavern — which has a heavy FDNY constituency — lost its liquor license following a “surprise, random” visit during a 9/11 fundraiser on Sept. 11 by State Liquor Authority (SLA) inspectors.
The Irish pub’s supporters say the raid was a political hit job, and that a new videotape will soon prove the bar and grill did nothing wrong — and could exonerate it as soon as this coming week.
Tavern backers believe the ill-timed raid was retaliation by Gov. Cuomo for a lawsuit filed just days earlier against him, as well as the city and Mayor de Blasio, by Joyce’s and other crippled Island restaurants demanding they be allowed to reopen.

According to my state representative this is basically the same kind of pressure that Andy beshear is using here. He is telling them that they have to force their customers to wear masks or he’s going to have them shut down for any one of the gazillion regulatory reasons that he can find. They have also told my rep that they are afraid to say anything for fear they will be shut down. A very legitimate fear.

This is what happens when government licenses business. Government should stay the eff away from business. The next Karen that whines government needs to protect us from evil business needs to be punched in the face. That goes for a lot of Fearpers on here too.

What would happen if they ignored the canceled licence and the next time the inspector shows up he is met by “antifa protestors” on his way out? That would be a shame but it’s happening all over...
Seriously, these inspectors need a little visit in the middle of the night from a friendly ninja explaining the error of their ways.
We on the right HAVE TO take the gloves off. We are in a war for the very future of freedom, and we are still using the Marquis of Queensbury rules, while the left runs roughshod over any and every form of decorum.
Sounds like the SLA goons need a visit.
