Former President Barack Obama issued a statement late Friday night on the passing of Supreme Court Associate Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg. The statement was posted to the online site Medium.
In the statement, Obama demanded the Republican controlled Senate not vote on any replacement for Ginsburg until a new president is sworn following the November presidential election. Obama cited his failed 2016 nomination of Judge Merrick Garland to back up his support for Ginsburg’s reported dying “instructions” that her replacement be nominated by a new president (“My most fervent wish is that I will not be replaced until a new president is installed.”)

If the statement is accurate about her dying thoughts, it says something profound about the left and right in today’s culture. Facing death in the face, a sane series of thoughts should revolve around God, family and friends - not politics.

These were not her “dying instructions.” She probably said this back in 2016. Otherwise, why would she have an expectation that a “new president” would be involved? And why no mention of Biden?
Anyway, I’ve heard from sources close to the Ginsburg family that THESE were her last words:
“My life is wasted! If only I could have seen that Orange Gorilla’s tax returns!”

Well, her fervent wish and Trump’s fervent wish are two different concepts. At this point, where ever she is, she is not too much interested in her replacement.

They’ll riot in the streets? They’ll burn down the cities? Wall off parts of their own towns as autonomous riot zones? Occupy Wall Street? Occupy White House? Days of Rage? Jihad? What are they going to fly a plane into a building? Block the streets and pull people out of their cars and beat them to death?

The Democrats have been bragging about how they will do more than put in one of their people when a Justice dies or retires. They say they will pack the Supreme Court with any number of new Justices so the court has more members. This is a structural change - radical a power grab and clearly against the will of half the people. The Democrats have no place to lecture us about fairness and playing by the rules.
