Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell, R-Ky., said Friday night that he intends to allow for a floor vote in the Senate to confirm a new nominee made by President Donald Trump to replace the Supreme Court vacancy left by Ruth Bader Ginsburg.
"In the last midterm election before Justice Scalia's death in 2016, Americans elected a Republican Senate majority because we pledged to check and balance the last days of a lame-duck president's second term. We kept our promise. Since the 1880s, no Senate has confirmed an opposite-party president's Supreme Court nominee in a presidential election year," he said.

any Republican running this year for reelection to the senate will be toast if they don’t vote for the candidate put forth to take Ginsburg’s place..
Actually that may work against us. At least with Collins (who I believe was the deciding vote on Kavenaugh.) Shes from a liberal state and 5 points down in the polls, which Im sure she attributes to her Kavenaugh vote. She would definitely burn us.
You know what, as I think about it, Romney could end up being the deciding vote on this.
That’s a great strategy. And I am so happy McConnell is not sounding doubtful in any way.
And like I said in another comment, Trump should bring hell down on any Senate Republican that fights him on this

McConnell has been excellent in getting the courts filled with respectable appointments.I expect the same now.
Trump owes the left the decency of waiting until after the election. They have earned that much /s
Seriously though ....no, do it....look at their behaviour
As to Ruth....Our forefathers never dreamed that killing babies in the womb is some kind of right.
The problem I will always have is the bias...favoring women's rights as superior to We the People rights.
They will...look what they did to Thomas. But it would make the dems look like they are forsaking the black folk and women. This identity politics is wrong.
” Republicans up for reelection:”
Appreciate the effort.
But what matters is the Dem Senators up for re-election,
Despite the media’s narrative it is the effect of this on the Dems that matters.
It takes 3 Rs to defeat the nominee, but only one Dem to pass.
If that’s the case, then we’re toast.
Notice the Dems are saying the SC pick should be made by the new president. Even Ginsburg said new.
A re-elected Trump is not new.
This is where the cowardly GOPee folds like a cheap suit.
[McConnell: I Will Fill Ginsburg’s Seat With Trump’s Nominee]
GOOD
Look at what they did to Clarence Thomas back when things were a little more civil than now. The democrats will have no problem destroying a black female conservative.
