Alaska's @lisamurkowski said today she won't confirm a new SCOTUS justice until after the inauguration day. Fair is fair, she says. My colleague @kcgrove will have a story shortly.
So what would happen if there is an election dispute and then a 4-4 tie in the Supreme Court? Trump and the republicans must nominate and confirm a justice to avoid this. The country demands it. Mitch better whip the senate in line with that argument. We can not face a 4-4 tie on a Michigan or pa election ballot dispute. It will be civil war. Currently, the Republicans are appealing the Michigan and PA decision To allow vote counting to continue after Election Day. The republic deserves a decision on that, not a tie. Republicans need to man up.

You have posted what might be The biggest reason to nominate & confirm now.
Especially in light of recent PA & MI ballot harvesting attempts
What a surprise! /s
I figured that we would lose Romney. Now this idiot.

This is why I have always despised RINOs even more than I do the Democrat scum.
“Fair is Fair?” In what way does that apply? Is she talking about Garland?
What does she mean, Fair is fair? This is not analogous to Garland.

In light of the enormous stakes involved, the very fact that she has such an asinine viewpoint confirms beyond any doubt that she is a freaking, untrustworthy moron. Such people are despicable.
Collins and Murkowski are diehard abortion advocates.
Romney wants to stab Trump in the back but knows that sabotaging a Supreme Court appointment would cost him his political future.
Graham will support Trump’s nominee.
RBG is dead, and a nomination is dead until 2021.
..............................................
The confirmation perhaps, but not the nomination.

Shes got that yeast infection expression.

LMAO! Did you just make that up? Never heard it before!
The election then becomes a referendum on both Trump, and an impeccable Supreme Court Justice, vs. the lunatic Left.

That is cogent thinking! I wonder if nomination of a woman would have a similar affect. There is at least one woman on his short list, but is there a Hispanic person on his list?
If the President nominates someone he will force a vote.
As someone said on another thread, even if a new one isnt confirmed until next year, at least there will be one less liberal judge on the court

Depends on who wins the Presidency and the Senate, doesn’t it?

“Not filling that seat will result in a huge liberal turnout.”
bingo, on the other hand, not filling that seat will result in a huge CONSERVATIVE turnout also. A duel to the death.
The only people that like her are democrats, and old senile people that vote by name recognition. Trust me.
“Murkowski, Romney, Collins, Linda Graham, and one or two others.”
Lindsey Graham will NOT hinder the nomination of a conservative judge. He is up for election and is already under suspicion of not being fully a Trumper based on his affiliation for years with John McCain, Trump’s nemesis. He won’t want to lose his Senate seat.
Plus Lindsey cottons up to strong male figures. He has transferred this propensity of his from John McCain to Donald Trump. Trump also gives Lindsey closer entree to the inner circle of power, where he likes to be. Lindsey is a media seeker, and always will be. He doesn’t like obscurity, and rubbing up against (not literally) Trump’s star quality allows Lindsey to bask in Trump’s glow, so to speak. He did the same with McCain. Bottom line Lindsey will stay within the fold.
This b*tch needs to go in 2022.
Alaska can do much better.
Once Mitt has “The Talk” with her, she will toe the line.
President Trump will move forward. Ill side with him either way he chooses.
