Just reported
Babylon Bee headline: “Ginsburgs clerks find it impossible to cover the smell and admit RBG died months ago.”
Let me assure you, the crowd at DU is wallowing in weapons-grade misery this evening. I'm surprised that the site hasn't gone dark so non-members would be blocked from lurking. Schadenfreude recharge, guaranteed. I agree, though - some of these people are going to come further unwrapped.
I guess the taxidermist just couldn’t get ‘er done.
Yes, prices on it now are crazy. Actually putting your hands on a bottle usually involves some kind of liquor store lottery.
Fortunately, I paid much less - around $90 for it in 2010, before the secondary market and social media made it highly-sought. It used to gather dust on shelves back then; I could usually catch it on sale between Thanksgiving and Christmas. I could've sold it at a serious mark-up later, but it's bourbon. You're supposed to drink it. :-)
When my current supply is gone, it's gone - no whiskey is worth those idiotic prices. For now, though, it's a nice pour to acknowledge important events.
[[She fought a valiant fight. One of the toughest I have seen against cancer.]]
Had a neighbor woman just as tough, if not tougher- old Hungarian woman- tough as nails-
The Dark Crystal.. how fitting
;^)
[[I have wondered about that, not just her. I think of the thief on the cross that repented. Does Christ visit some people at their dying moment to give them a last choice.]]
Some perhaps- others have hardened their own hearts far beyond redemption, and some have committed apostasy and can never be saved-
Sorry about the correction.
I decided to look in on DU after your post.
It's been several years since I saw DU's forum.
Yes indeed. There's much weeping, whining and
gnashing of teeth over there now.
And much evil and outright hatred of anybody that's
not them - particularly Republican conservatives.
“It’s time for us to pray, and work our tails off to turn out conservative voters down the final stretch.”
We have to stop those fraudulent ballots from being counted.
Your metre sort of breaks down in the last two lines.
(But, I’m an amateur...)
The forces propelling the current unrest have little in common with the 1860s. Now, the pre-WWII Spanish Civil War, that might be something worth studying. Most people in the U.S. know little enough of our own national history, so that bloody struggle in Spain is mostly a big question mark. Add in some later Maoist twists and that's the sort of "civil war" that we could see. The new "Red Guard" is betting that we won't see the need to organize and fight back until it's too late.
Look up "ritual public shaming" with the FR title search.
They’ll feel much better after VP Biden sings Despacito at the funeral.
They’re BOTH already on it.
I’ll raise a glass for two more “Mission Accomplished” when their time comes.
I think many Americans are just too spoiled and lazy to produce what you suggest.
It appears that a lot of the people who are out there burning things down, are being paid, in some way, by .... someone.
If there were an actual war, all of those people would be hiding.
(The solution to ‘public shaming’ is simply to refuse to be shamed. One might lose one’s job, if it comes to that extreme; but at least they wouldn’t lose their Soul.)
“...the RATs and the turncoats wont make it easy...”
Nobody ever said it WOULD be easy, my friend.
But this is War. And it’s time to smack them in the face with a 2x4.
After all... “Never let a Crisis go to waste”, right?
:^)
Janey darlin’... I’d hug ya, offer ya a shot of Irish whiskey, and dance with ya if ya were here right now!!! Hahah!!!!
Does this mean that if Pres. Trump is reelected, then she should be replaced four years later?
I am sure Ginsburg is sitting around the underground campfire yucking it up with Ted Kennedy as fifty million dead babies scream at them.
