Lindsey Graham thinks the President should release tax returns

Washington (CNN) President Donald Trump has long resisted releasing his tax returns in a break with historic precedent, but even one of his closest allies in the Senate thinks he should.

Asked if Trump should release his tax returns, Sen. Lindsey Graham of South Carolina told CNN on Thursday, "Yeah, I think everybody should. I've said that for a long time." Graham has sought to make financial disclosure an issue in his reelection by releasing 11 years of state and federal tax returns for press review and demanding that his Democratic opponent, Jaime Harrison, do the same. "What is he hiding?" Graham tweeted last Saturday.

Harrison has since released the details of several years of past tax returns. South Carolina newspaper The State reported earlier this week that after asking both campaigns for candidate tax returns, Harrison's campaign let the newspaper review his returns from 2012 through 2018. In response to a call from Graham for him to release tax returns, Harrison tweeted on Tuesday, "Done. Now do President Trump."

A recent poll from Quinnipiac University showed the two candidates tied with 48% of likely voters supporting Graham and 48% backing Harrison. That follows an August Quinnipiac poll that had the two candidates tied, with 44% each among registered voters. Harrison, a former state party chairman, has been outraising Graham, bringing in about $14 million in the second quarter compared to Graham's $8.4 million.

Unlike Linda I don’t believe President Trump has anything to hide. Which is why I think Trump should release his tax returns: to expose the leftist allegations of Russian money-laundering as the nothingburger they are.

I don’t care, CNN. Vote for Graham in SC, because President Trump said so! And because you value our Second Amendment and want more good judges appointed!

Don’t pay any attention to Democrat concern trolling, and that certainly includes CNN and all who disseminate for it.

"I wonder if Lindsey will win reelection?"

Probably not, if we keep seeing trash like the article above this thread posted to conservative discussion boards. And if not, say goodbye to the Republican Senate majority and hello to gun control, appointments of radical socialist judges and all of the other damage that can be done with such stupidity.

Remember the women who fought against Justice Kavanaugh's appointment? Those women will be successful for four years at getting the judges that they want, if Graham doesn't win the election. If nothing else, remember that he was endorsed by President Trump for a good reason.

We need a Senate majority, and Graham will fight again for what's most important.

I sure hope so. We don't need any losses now. We need the House, the Senate and the Presidency.

God help us if the Dems win any one.

-- If Lindsey Graham thinks it's a big deal he can write an amendment to the Constitution. --

Simpler to change the statutes. Tax privacy is a statutory creation. Tax info was originally public. This caused heartburn for the powers that be, so they got privacy from Congress.

"Unlike Linda I don’t believe President Trump has anything to hide."

Graham doesn't, either. He's trying to win an election in a state where too many voters have turned too far to the left. But he's gone all in on the fight during the past four years, when we needed him. Remember what he did during the Kavanaugh confirmation hearings.

Many conservatives need to find ways to increase their IQs a little.

Sorry, we need to keep the Senate.

Don’t hand the Rats a Senate Seat because you dislike Linseed.

Don’t want to go back to 2016, but I’ll type what I said back then anyway.

You Vote for your Candidate in the Primary and you Vote for your Party’s Candidate in the General.

It’s a numbers game, simple as that. Chuck the Schmuck and his band of DEMONcRATS has to be kept in the Minority.

Maybe I’ll just leave this race blank when I vote IN PERSON.

Better to vote for both so someone doesn't vote for one of them for you.

Please consider the overview.

Believe me I have. The only reason linda is in office is because South Carolina has open primaries and a bunch of rats cross over and vote for him.

He's trying to win an election in a state where too many voters have turned too far to the left.

So you're saying is he is a typical politician who says whatever he thinks the people want to hear rather than develop principles of his own. Nice.

I would never criticize another conservative in front of a libtard. But if we can't evaluate conservative politicians here on FR, a conservative site, where else is there?
