I’m glad they’re covering this, or else a lot of liberals might not believe it.

But no worries.

No one in government will be held accountable, all their paychecks kept rolling in, and when it’s over they will pat themselves on the back and pretend that the sun came up the next day because they made it so.

Plus, we’re much more risk-averse. Children aren’t allowed to walk to school; jungle gyms have vanished from playgrounds; college students are shielded from microaggressions. We have a “safetyism mindset,” as Jonathan Haidt and Greg Lukianoff write in “The Coddling of the American Mind,” under which “many aspects of students’ lives needed to be carefully regulated by adults.”

Paranoia has permanently imbedded in the modern mind.

When I was a child I was trusted by my mother. Before I went to kindergarten I would tell my mother I was going for a walk and she would say, okay. I would walk around the block and be back at home. I was instructed not to cross the street and I understood that and did not deviate.

Today’s kids aren’t even aloud to play outside in their own yard without constant supervision.

How can children raised so, be expected to think for themselves and question nonsensical government edicts?

Parents that have believed in a pandemic of hyper activity syndrome will easily believe in a deadly pandemic of flu that can only be controlled by a hyper active government that must control every aspect of human activity.

Just now Michael? Where have you been for the last 5 months when it became obvious to many Americans that this prolonged drawn out lock down was going to do more harm than good?

Indefinite soft lockdowns were a big mistake.

Short-term through lockdowns should have been used.

A distinction needs to be made between early, scientifically-based lockdowns versus late, weaponized “Orange Man Bad” lockdowns.

More specifically, under the guidance of virus experts, PDJT smartly called his national lockdown early enough that it slowed the spread of the virus, successfully “flattening the curve,” thus preventing medical services from being overwhelmed.

At the other extreme, desperate Democrats immediately pirated the pandemic crisis for political gain, weaponizing it to try to destroy PDJT’s credibility, by initially telling people to go out and party despite Trump’s “hoax” virus.

Then, when elite, flunky, bully Democrats finally got a clue that the virus was real, and not a hoax like their political correct global warming alarmism, they unthinkingly extended Trump's lockdowns with the intention of destroying Trump’s thriving economy, an added bonus, by doing so.

The reason that the Democrats' late lockdowns were stupid is this. Late lockdowns ignored that the people who had been infected with virus at the parties that the Democrats had encouraged them to go to then locked down with family members, ultimately spreading the virus to family members.

Are we having fun yet? 8^P

Insights welcome.

Send "Orange Man Bad" federal and state government desperate Democrats home in November!

Supporting PDJT with a new patriot Congress and state government leaders that will promise to fully support his already excellent work for MAGA and stopping SARS-CoV-2 will effectively give fast-working Trump a "third term" in office imo.

I don’t see any problem with voting Republican ticket for 2020 elections.

Again, insights welcome.

Imagine how isolation is affecting our children. It's bad enough if you have a sibling or two to interact with. For only children it can be excruciating. Solitary confinement is rough on hardened criminals, it must be much worse for innocent children!

At least the criminals have lived long enough to have developed coping mechanisms, and the ability to understand why they are isolated.

A young child? Not so much. They sit alone wondering why they are being punished by the whole world. The internalized sense of free floating guilt (for nothing!) and diminished sense of self-worth will haunt many for the rest of their lives.

We flattened the curve, but the left wasn't satisfied.

We've flattened our children, and they still aren't satisfied.

Bring Out Your Dead

Post to me or FReep mail to be on/off the Bring Out Your Dead ping list.

The purpose of the “Bring Out Your Dead” ping list (formerly the “Ebola” ping list) is very early warning of emerging pandemics, as such it has a high false positive rate.

The false positive rate was 100%.

At some point we may well have a high mortality pandemic, and likely as not the “Bring Out Your Dead” threads will miss the beginning entirely.

*sigh* Such is life, and death...

Quarantine the sick. Shield the vulnerable. Free everyone else!

Now looking? I have been a COVID skeptic since before day 1. I have never been afraid of COVID. All of the people who have been going on and on about how dangerous it is will not come back and apologize for feeding the frenzy. We have many in our very midst. Most of them will come back and claim that they too were skeptical just so they don’t look like the idiots that they are.

People still believe the “lockdown” had anything to do with a disease or control of said disease.

How special. Bless their hearts.

Society is far more risk adverse, we are far more willing to exchange freedom for security, well you all know how that saying goes.
