Business groups are training young Americans for jobs and careers because President Donald Trump temporarily blocked the inflow of foreign contract-workers, according to multiple press reports.
In Tennessee, the Gatlinburg-area tourist industry was denied many J-1 workers, so it responded by developing a hospitality internship program that seeks to bring more U.S. college-age workers to the area, according to a September 6 report in the Wall Street Journal. Weve tried to get creative, said Allen Newton, the director of the Sevier County Economic Development Council.
In Kentucky, the horseracing industry is hiring and training Americans because Trump blocked the inflow of H-2B visa workers, according to an August 31 Associated Press report:
'This month, the U.S. Department of State issued new guidance that allows more foreign workers to enter the U.S., but with the season nearly up, its unlikely to change things this year, said Elizabeth Conley Buckley, an immigration attorney based in Lexington.
'This exemption to the executive order is not going to help them because they never got [H-2B] visas, she said. So they have been dealing with any kind of staff they can put together from college students to day workers, whatever they can find.
'Laurie Mays, a project manager at the Kentucky Chamber of Commerce, is in charge of developing a local workforce for the horse industry. Shes optimistic about bringing more American workers into the industry but insists that the need for migrant workers would still exist when that day comes.'
In Colorado, the ski industry is hiring Americans because it was denied H-2B and J-1 workers, according to The Colorado Sun [...]

[Labor Day Win: CEOs Hire Americans Because Donald Trump Excludes Visa Workers]
Democrats Jorge and Yeb! Boosh deeply saddened.
Same for Democrats Chuck Schooomer and Nancy Salon Pelosi.
The President is for the American worker — unlike so many in government.
Winning!
This policy creates a labor market. So businesses are forced to recruit, hire, train and retain workers. Can’t just turn and burn under the cursed Jack Welch model.
Oh...so the companies didn’t shut down and start shedding jobs like we’ve been assured would happen. When forced to adapt they adapt. Shocking!
Except these people will probably never be in a union, so they dont count.
So all those people of FR that said that Americans won’t do this work were wrong...
Good Golly! Can you imagine a scenario where corporations and CEO’s are forced to value and pay for the Americans who do the actual work and make the internationalist ass holes rich?
Well, for the Booshes and their friends, there’s the New World Order union....
(sorry, just a tinfoil conspiracy!)
At least I think that’s what the Globalists want us to say. It’s all just a tinfoil conspiracy.
Did they pay well, I wondered. Only about 50 cents an hour over minimum wage, he replied. They did give regular performance based raises but they had a benefit no business in town could match.
What was that, I asked? An unlimited ski pass good for the hours when the resort customers were few, he replied.
How can this be? Americans doing the jobs they dont want to do?
‘Laurie Mays, a project manager at the Kentucky Chamber of Commerce, is in charge of developing a local workforce for the horse industry. Shes optimistic about bringing more American workers into the industry but insists that the need for migrant workers would still exist when that day comes.’
And just why is that, Ms Mays?
No one will shovel horses***?
or just wont shovel it at the ‘wages’ you wish to pay?
BTW you pay for it either way They breed and you pay to try to educate their kids who aren’t of your culture. Care to guess how much that might be per kid per year?
Gee, imagine that. Denied their cheap foreign indentured servants, companies hire actual Americans.
I say we continue this experiment for a few years and then see what the outcome is......
As it should be...
We need to get every able American employed before we import people. And even then, we need to be very careful who comes in. (People who want to be part of our society and culture, such as Hong Kongers or South African farmers, would be the kind of people I have in mind.)
You Sevier County dolts ain’t done crap. All you gotta do is ask Dolly how she does it EVERY YEAR. She brings in thousands to work her park.
