The world’s oldest astrological clock (600 years old) is still functioning in Prague.

Installed in 1410, mounted on the southern wall of Old Town Hall in the Old Town Square in Prague.

Interesting stuff. I think I’ve seen the ship pic before, don’t think I’ve seen the tortoise...

Something I forgot earlier.

Behind and to the left of Tom Selleck, dancing with blue dress. Is that a young Prince Andrew I see? Or am I thinking of someone else?

More ornate than the ones worn by the Massai bushmen, or the ones sold at Cinqo de Mayo for that matter.

Heh, that almost looks like REAL marble that the rye was made of.

Of course, it might have hardened a bit over the years......

I can’t really tell until it’s on fishing line being reeled up to a window, several stories up.

An East German soldier helping a lost boy sneak across the Berlin Wall.

When the Berlin Wall went up on August 13, 1961, the city wasn’t ready to be cut in half. The worst part about the forced splitting of the city was the fact that no one from East Berlin was allowed to cross over to West Berlin and vice versa. As chaos ensued this boy found himself on the wrong side of the wall. Rather than doom a child to a life without his family, this unknown soldier took his career into his own hands and helped the boy across the wall (at this point it was a simple barbed wire fence).

The soldier was caught after saving the boy, and while it’s believed that he was removed from his post no one really knows what happened to him.

Lincoln assassination conspirators getting prepared to be hanged. It was in the mid 90s that day. Look how they are dressed! Shorts and sandals were not a thing yet.
