4 P.M.: PEOPLE TRAPPED AT MAMMOTH POOL As many as 1,000 people near Mammoth Pool Reservoir have been cut off by the Creek Fire and are unable to evacuate the area. They are reportedly being advised to shelter in place, in the reservoir if necessary. The situation was confirmed by Sierra National Forest spokesman Dan Tune.

Edison is a special lake.
If the store burned I hope they at least got the huge Brown Trout mount out, it was priceless, IMHO.
That road...
I believe the area around Lake Edison, and the people there, are relatively safe. Here’s a map of the area and the extent of the fire.

Lake Edison is the lake about 15 miles northwest of Huntington Lake/Lakeshore. And I believe the fire is moving north. The people are trapped at Lake Edison and need to be airlifted because the road (Kaiser Pass Road) has been cut-off by the fire at Lakeshore.
Bass Lake is to the west/northwest of Lakeshore, and is preparing to evacuate. There are lots of cabins and resorts around it.
NFS closed all access to the national forests in CA at 5:00pm today.
Of course, anyone in the national forest right now is take a big risk.
ESPECIALLY if they are in the back country. That’s foolhardy.
