Before Kyle Rittenhouse allegedly opened fire on anti-racist protesters in Kenosha, Wisconsin, on Tuesday night — killing two and severely injuring another — a video showed police essentially deputizing the 17-year-old.
Rittenhouse had been walking the streets of Kenosha carrying an assault rifle alongside other armed white men, a local self-styled militia formed for the purported purpose of protecting property from protesters.
“We appreciate you guys, we really do,” a cop can be heard telling the group over a loudspeaker before tossing Rittenhouse a bottle of water.
It was a scene familiar in American history: agents of the state conscripting armed white vigilantes to help violently suppress movements for racial justice and liberation. (“Cops and the Klan go hand in hand,” the common protest chant goes.)
So it wasn’t surprising to see Rittenhouse, in another video published Tuesday, walk toward police after allegedly killing the two protesters — or for him not to be apprehended until the following day, when he was arrested at his home in Illinois.
As historic uprisings against police brutality have swept the country in recent months, antagonistic right-wing vigilantes have been a constant, menacing presence. Often seen patrolling Black Lives Matter protests with the tacit — and very often explicit — support of law enforcement, these vigilantes have shot protesters, attacked them with cars, and beaten them.

Yesterday I received a response from a leftist on facebook stating that the violence and rioting is being done by White supremacists, KKK, and vigilantes. He claims that President Trump is too weak and afraid of them to stop it.
No mention at all of BLM and Antifa.
I answered that it is true that BLM and Antifa are mostly white but they are Marxists. I haven’t received an answer yet, but I am sure he won’t believe me.
I read up a little on “right wing” fringe groups but I just doubt they are as prevalent and well funded as BLM and Antifa. Are there any non-biased studies on this?
Just finished reading some books on the history of the Old West. One chapter read of a group of rancher vigilantes catching a pair of horse thieves in the act. They hung them on the spot and left them there with a pick and shovel on the ground below in case someone wanted to bury them.

This illustrates the complete BS logic used throughout the entire article. How could the police, arriving on the scene, possibly know that Rittenhouse was involved in the incident? They just see some guy waking away from the scene using the “hands up don’t shoot” signal.
Well, you don’t want to become a criminal yourself by littering!
Those that squeal the loudest about “vigilantes” are those that will come for you without them.
So the cops like guys with guns who don’t commit crime but instead guard businesses from being looted and burned?

Well duh, because the cops aren't allowed to do that to felons, pedos, and other criminals.
They just called a guy who went up to a black man and said “shot me, n*gg**” “anti-racist”. That guy was a racist. He didn’t deserve to be shot and killed for being a racist, but he was a racist. He was shot and killed because he stupidly threatened the life of a guy with a gun, and thought he was strong enough to grab the gun and pull it away. (which he probably would have been, if the guy hadn’t been wearing tactical gear).
Also, more lies. Kyle try to turn himself into police, but police had no idea who he was, and told him to move on.
He went home, and then TURNED HIMSELF IN to police. They didn’t have to come and find him.
Of course, after he shot the first guy, he was running toward police to get away from the mob, but the mob was intent on stopping him and beating him up before he reached the police.
