President Trump has gained 9 points on Joe Biden in Pennsylvania over the past six weeks, pulling into a statistical tie with the Democratic nominee in a key battleground state, according to a new poll.
The latest Monmouth University survey finds Biden at 49 percent and Trump at 45 percent among all registered voters in the state. Thats within the polls 4.9-percentage-point margin of error and a far closer race than Monmouth found in July, when Biden led 53 to 40 among registered voters.
The race is even closer among likely voters.
When Monmouth forecasts a high turnout election, Biden leads Trump 49 to 46. In a model reflecting lower turnout, Bidens lead is only 1 point, at 48 to 47. In July, Biden led by 10 points in the high turnout model and by 7 points in the low turnout model.
This is really a game of inches, said Monmouth pollster Patrick Murray. The Trump campaign is looking to peel off a little bit of Biden support here and a little bit there. It may be working, despite the fact that Pennsylvania voters personally like the Democrat more, although this gap has narrowed.
The race has tightened as men in the state have swung wildly in favor of Trump. The president leads by 19 points among men, compared to his 2-point advantage in July.

That doesnt count the 15% margin of error for corrupted MSM polling, and people who avoid pollsters, or lie to them outright.
The trend is your friend
So, Trump wins there, then.
I never answer my phone if I don’t recognize the number, so am never polled.
Hillary led Trump by 14 points nationwide in late October 2016. Polls are notoriously unreliable, so why do they even continue to do them? They serve an agenda, that’s why. John Kerry can tell us all about polls, especially exit polls on election day.
on the flip side it doesn’t count the cheating.
A few times last week I heard the clip of Biden saying that if men can get coal out of mines, they can learn to do programming (assume he meant computer coding). What an ahole.
Wolf is doing his part to make sure Trump prevails in this state... I think it is hidden from them of how angry rural PA is. They make their edicts that they do not keep and pretend to care while inflicting pain on their constituents.
How heavy did they oversample Dems?
I walk my dog twice a day and know all most all of the people {at least by sight} and talk with many.
There are 12 Trump signs and flags and one biden sign.
In 2016 there were two homes that had Trump signs, mine and one brave lady {she listens to Rush}, but I knew that there were many other Trumpers, they just didn't want to advertise it.
This cycle has brought out many Trumpers with their backs up and every one on them owns guns.
I know because we talk about the riots and what would we do if...
The Jackals have woke the sleeping lions.
Which is why Biden is now lying and trying to claim that he never said he wanted to ban fracking.
One Biden sign in my neighborhood.
It belongs to a Millenial Asian chick who also has a
Black Lives Matter sign in her yard.
The Monmouth University poll of 400 registered voters in Pennsylvania was conducted Aug. 28-Aug. 31 and has a margin of error of 4.9 percentage points.
That is good news for Trump. Likely voter polls are both more accurate and more favorable to Republicans. So this poll underestimates Trumps actual poll numbers.
If anyone knows the D-R-I split they should post it. That is the common way these polls cheat in favor of the Dems.
Even with all the crooked BS that will (already is I'm sure) be going on here in Michigan thanks to the Demwits at sec'y of state, AG, G, and LG, don't be too surprised when President Trump wins in Michigan.
Which is why Biden is now lying and trying to claim that he never said he wanted to ban fracking.
+++++
And Biden will continue to sleep well knowing that he does not have to worry about the media reporting his previous I will ban all fracking comments.
History is whatever the NYT and WP says it is.
I feel good about NC, MN, AZ, WI, Iowa and Michigan.
I think things look good in Pennsylvania and Florida. Obviously if Trump was those states its a massive blowout.
Central PA guy here.
OVERWHELMING # of Trump flags, stickers, and yard signs, probably into the hundreds.
I think I’ve seen 2 Biden yard signs, and one flag between Myerstown and Hershey, down to Reading, PA area.
It was awesome watching Tucker Carlson play the videos last night of Biden saying hes ban fracking and ban fossil fuels.
Those need to be made into campaign ads and run regularly in Pennsylvania.
Yes, in 2016, half the Pennsylvania blue collar workers and contractors (the smart half) quietly quit the Democrat plantation and climbed aboard the Trump Train.
Democrat open border policies, anti-American trade policy and job killing regulations were a betrayal to the working man.
Then, in 2020, something interesting happened: the other half of Pennsylvania blue collar workers climbed aboard the Trump Train, and not so quietly.
Why? Because of coronavirus, economic shutdowns, mask-wearing and distancing.
In half-open sports bars, half-open AmVet clubs, half-open diners and at work (for those still working) the subject of conversation is coronavirus. Everyone has strong opinions and everyone talks about it non-stop. The mask-wearing and weird seating arrangements are so in-your-face, it is impossible to avoid the subject.
And funny thing - every conversation starts with coronavirus but ends with politics. People are talking about politics more than ever, because coronavirus, mask-wearing, shutdowns - it all begs the question of politics.
You can tell in 20 seconds what someones political views are by the way they talk about coronavirus. If they are terrified of Covid and think Faucis guidelines are saving lives - they are anti-Trump. If they think the shutdowns and mask wearing were a huge overreactions - and maybe even politically motivated to tank Trumps economy - you are pro-Trump.
Because of that, political conversations are happening all over Pennsylvania - they may start out about sports (or lack thereof), or coronavirus (or lack thereof), or whether masks are stupid, or whether schools should be open - but they end up about politics, shutting down America vs. putting America First.
The blue collar workers and small business owners and contractors already on the Trump Train from 2016 are converting the rest over to Trump as we speak.
I assume a similar conversation is taking place in most states.
