I live in the state of roving blackouts. Electricity bills
are horrendous. I have a family member who had solar
panels installed on his rough, and two Tesla Power banks
on the side of their home.
They pay no more now than they did before they installed the
system. In five more years, their whole set-up will be paid
off, and they will be able to sell power back to the grid
without any costs each month.
You have to be a demonicRat to think that’s a good idea?
LOL, ah no...
Lots of room in northern Arizona to fill up. Just sayin’.....
"But we meant well."
LOL, I had to literally LOL. Yes, some think electricity comes from the electrical outlet, and don’t know or understand that the electricity has to be generated somewhere in order to be available in that wall outlet.
I live in an area where softball-size hail is not unheard of.
What electrical companies do when a large group of customers use these things, is that if they actually cause a decrease in power demand, they will create a surcharge for using solar panels and accessing the power grid. They did it in Arizona. So no major savings.
Ummm, ever hear of recycling?
Tell him that only nuclear power can support electric cars without a significant increase in pollution!
Now THAT is a great idea!
You make a good point there. I don’t know the weather
situation like you do, but I think you’re probably dead
on target with that observation.
I was part of a group that fought and won against a big Industrial Wind Turbine Complex near me. The first in our state to be successful
They lies that we exposed were numerous
We finally won by convincing the Board of Zoning Appeals to force them into providing a Property Value Guarantee
They claimed adjacent property owners would suffer NO loss in property value, but damsure wouldn’t back it up in writing
I did.
But since California law said that every "excess" Watt you generated was a GIFT to PG&E my system was deliberately anemic, never did cover my full usage.
Still ended up paying for itself, and it did boost the property value a bit when I sold the house.
This is complete and total bullcrap
Solar panels ,also known as photovoltaics , come with a 25 or 30 year warranty
Now mind you this is only for the crystalline silicon tight panels theres been some other pretenders out there over the years and theyve all gone by the wayside -amorphous silicon cadmium telluride and others
Photovoltaics are the only source of electricity on planet earth it doesnt have any moving parts
Ive been installing solar panels since 1990 thats 30 years now
I have service systems that are over 25 years old the panels are still working fine the only thing that fails is inverters
Inverters are what make your solar panels connect to the utility and sell downhill
I challenge this author and any other idiot that tries to say anything bad about photovoltaics to talk only about photovoltaics alone and dont try to lump them in with any other technology such as wind - they are night and day
You only have two choices as a homeowner or a business owner put solar panels on your roof or keep paying utility forever whatever they want to charge
Furthermore if they decide to turn off your power youre on your own unless you install batteries
a 2017 hailstorm in Denver that caused severe damage across the city proved the durability of solar panels. The hailstones were roughly 3 inches wide! However, out of 3,000 solar modules on NRELs Denver campus, only one panel was broken.4
Perfect solution. I’d also send a bunch to AOC.
also, don’t forget the tremendous environmental impact from the physical & chemical macro/micro-processing aspects of solar batteries fabrication. These very aspects are numerous.
The heavily taxpayer subsidized solar industry has created millions of pounds of polluted sludge and contaminated water..
The now-defunct, bankrupted Solyndra used its $535 million in guaranteed federal tax dollars to generate about 12.5 million pounds of hazardous waste, much of which was carcinogenic cadmium-contaminated waste, during its four years of operations.
But, you say, solar energy is clean, green, and ... Isnt that what we have all been told?
The truth can be brutal. The average lifespan of a solar panel is about 20 years, but high temperatures can accelerate the aging process for solar cells, and snow, dust, and other natural events (tornadoes, earthquakes),can cause material fatigue on the surface and in the internal electric circuits reducing the panels power output.
Another real concern is the vast increase in the use of nitrogen trifluoride (NF3) in the construction of solar panels up 1,057 percent over the past 25 years. The UN Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change deems NF3 to be 17,200 times more potent than carbon dioxide as a greenhouse gas ..

My liberal acquaintance used to rave about us stepdaughter’s Pruis. The other day a light came on. She figured she would look it up when she got home. The car died long before. Turns out the battery died. You can’t run on the engine alone. A replacement is $7500, except there are none available. It is more than the car is worth. Two estimates on trade-in value were $100 and $150. I said i was sorry. (It sounded TOTALLY genuine.)
