The California Assembly will vote before Monday on a state Senate bill that creates a task force to look at the question of slavery reparations. The measure passed the state Senate in a bipartisan vote.
The radical left is getting ready for a Biden presidency and a Democratic Party takeover of the U.S. House and Senate by laying the groundwork for their agenda at the state level. Slavery reparations will be close to the top of the radical’s wish list if Biden wins.
Lets be clear: Chattel slavery, both in California and across our nation, birthed a legacy of racial harm and inequity that continues to impact the conditions of Black life in California, said Democratic Sen. Holly Mitchell of Los Angeles.
She cited disproportionate homelessness, unemployment, involvement in the criminal justice system, lower academic performance and higher health risks during the coronavirus pandemic.
This is a surprise. California was a free state when it entered the Union in 1850 as a result of the Compromise of 1850. But now we’re told there was “chattel slavery” in California.
Well… sorta.
Although California before the Civil War was officially a free state, Mitchell listed legal and judicial steps state officials took at the time to support slavery in Southern states while repressing Blacks.
But what about the fact that white people alive today had nothing to do with slavery?
Sen. Steven Bradford, a Democrat from Gardena who supported the bill, said he only wished it was more than a study.

Is there also a task force to examine if California was unfairly taken from Mexico? /s
Weekly payments until the end of time
Forcing people to pay for the actions of others. Our side can have REAL fun with this concept.
Im one of the people who realize that our constitutional government is run by we the people.
California is 50+ billion in debt.
Arent people embarrassed by this ridiculousness. Arent men mortified that the state takes their familiesresources for this business
There is no money.
Sometimes “optics” are ironic.
California today has so many foreign born and 1st generation immigrants, and so many immigrants who are non-white, and we are talking about the legacy of black slaves held by whites. Reparations will eventually include taxes to be paid by people who had nothing to do with black slavery.
And as noted, California was not a slave state.
If you were looking at business tax impact....another fine example why staying in California is not possible. Trying to manufacture anything and be competitive on prices? Impossible. That’s what they don’t grasp...you’d destroy all competitive nature in the state...in a matter of months.
Don’t the legislatures have anything better to do? I know. Rhetorical question. Silly me.
Quit trying to confuse the issue with facts. The little heads out there doing this don’t have the brain power for them.
Bankruptcy cant come too soon for that place.
> Is there also a task force to examine if California was unfairly taken from Mexico? /s <
Yes. But its merely a subcommittee of the task force to examine if Mexico unfairly took California from the Indians.
California’s hispanic population is about to learn that their ancestors were partially Spanish and therefore they are evil people who owe reparations.
Grab the popcorn....

You have got to be kidding me. According to this logic, Africa must be a downright paradise.
Exactly. Slavery was almost irrelevant to California’s history. If they have a “need” to look into something, look into reparations, at least, to Mexico and native Americans. /SARC
California State Senator Holly Mitchell (D).
And this one, her colleage and bill supporter, California State Senator Steven Bradford (D).
FYI: It was just last week when most of the GOP CA State Senators were banned from participation in the legislation because of a single exposure to a Covid case in a dining function. Health first OR power politics, you decide!
This is what you get when you combine a one party state, a media that is nothing more then the voice of the party and the need to pander to their base.
Every special interest group gets to put in their wish list of things they want.
Thats because slavery was/is a huge problem in California.
And then you can complete the circle because most of the Indians/Amerindians/Native Americans/Indigenous Natives/First Peoples/First invaders/Destroyers of Eden/ ... etc., commonly held slaves of their own, war booty from inter-tribal wars. Top of that heap was the Aztecs, which were so bad that their conquered peoples were happy to help Cortez in bringing the Aztec Empire DOWN!
just when you think they cant get any stupider...they prove us wrong IQ of politicians fast approaching zero
That is very true. Naive Americans held slaves. And Naive American tribes wiped out other Native American tribes. And the Aztecs were the worst. Their history is drenched in blood. But were not supposed to discuss that anymore. Heres the modern, PC view of the Aztecs. What a friendly fellow!
