California to Set Up Task Force to Examine Slavery Reparations

As of 2020, black Californians are 5.8% of the population or 2.3 million. The numbers are almost unchanged since 2010. White flight from California started after 1990. In that year. non-Hispanic whites were 57.2% of the population. By 2020, the number declined to 37.8%. (2020 numbers are estimates.) Both black and white numbers are boosted by immigrants. Keep in mind Middle Easterners and North African are classified as white by the Census Bureau. Native born whites of European descent in California are probably well under the 37.8% figure.

A state where native born European Americans are maybe one third of the population at best are being asked to pay reparations for slavery, where the last person born to slavery died decades ago. Americans of Italian, Jewish, Polish and other backgrounds whose ancestors came to America decades after Appomattox are under this judgment. So are the descendants of Union soldiers.

Ok, so every once in a while there is talk about this State or that State (or States) and secession from the US. Seriously though, what about the other way around? Can the rest of us force California out of the US? I'm ready to seriously consider it.
