OK Folks, I will not overestimate the dangers of Covid-19 for the general reasonably healthy population (Especially the young ).

However, let us NOT UNDERESTIMATE the dangers of this disease to those HUGE number of people in the USA who have serious pre-existing conditions and/or are elderly.

Having seen friends ( plural ) die because of co-morbidities AND catching Covid-19, I cannot help but say to myself — well, yes, they will eventually die of their condition, but I cannot help but wonder HOW MANY MORE YEARS they would have lived had there been no Coronavirus ... Even a year or two is precious.

I wonder if those people thought another year or two of their lives being extended was worth the wholesale destruction of the United States were at least the attempt.

My mom has been screaming at 87 to just let her live her life and go back to the senior center to play cards and she did go about as she pleases. And she said her life is not worth the destruction that has been wrought. Selfishness has unfortunately been a disease that has spread to even the elderly in this country

And those are the people who should wear masks, social distance and avoid risks.

Not the whole country.

Yes, but what is most precious is the last moments and days of life, when people should be surrounded by their loved ones and their priests, and this is precisely what they were robbed of by these stupid restrictions that we put in place supposedly for their benefit. And those who died of other causes were robbed of the same thing. And their loved ones were robbed of the chance to say good bye. And their friends and loved ones were robbed of the chance to have a proper funeral.

And I would bet that most of your friends who died, and I am speaking statistically, but most of them probably died in nursing care facilities where they were, rather predictably, infected by their professional caregivers, the ones who know better than all of us and tell us what we can and can’t do, but who refused to follow their own protocols and who themselves refused to bear the entire social burden of isolation that duty would impose upon them.

So let me call all of the world’s society’s Covid response what it is, a diabolical conspiracy to lead souls to eternal damnation, with no redeeming value whatsoever. Yes, some people are changing their behavior with the intent, at least, of “saving lives”, but for thousands of years people have gone to temples dedicated to demons begging for someone or another’s life to be saved, and have used all sorts of amulets, potions, and incantations, and, yes, sacrifices to demons for this purpose, and we do not consider their pagan idolatry to be salvific.

Sorry for your losses.
I pray God provides you comfort.

Now, speaking in general, how many of those that died [generality] with suppressed immune systems and other co-morbidities would have likely died if they contracted the flu this season?
My thought is that a significant number (of the sub-group in my sentence above) would have died of the common flu also.
Did these folks have a flu shot or, did they avoid it because of their conditions?
Would the flu vaccine have helped ANY of these folks?
I keep checking Milloy’s /junkscience.com/ to see if he is/has done a comparative epidemiological work-up on the flu v. COVID.
Unfortunately, the best and most accurate epidemiology is done AFTER the epidemic with reliable data.

You are spot on with this statement. Unfornaturely a lot of the people who believe the virus only effects 6% do not care about 94% of people with comorbidities.

How many Americans that are overweight/obesses, on high blood pressure medicine, have heart disease(they do not know about) or diabetes? We all get old and develop comorbidities with age.

We don’t need to lock down, but we do need to have good prevention practices in place.

The virus is not going away and I believe there is no herd immunity for a cold (Covid-19 is a coronovirus like a cold).

Was this flu worth destroying the world’s economy? It is becoming clearer everyday the Covid cold is a campaign of fear ( which the majority sadly bought into) perpetrated to exercise unconstitutional power over citizens and to influence the coming elections. What has become of America?
