People look at the Jacob Blake incident and want to immediately condemn the police. They want to play the what if game and label all police part of a systemic problem that is predisposed to targeting communities of color, when in fact they should be the ones looking in the mirror.
The Left has, time and again, removed the tools of policing that not only creates an atmosphere for a Jacob Blake incident; it all but guarantees it.
Todays politicians and anti-police rhetoric have enabled criminals to disobey direct verbal commands from law enforcement, emboldening criminals not to comply with officers and creating a generational anti-authority mindset.
Lets say the officers could have used the physical force necessary to control Mr. Blake, using properly taught head and body strikes, even punches, to force compliance over Blake's apparent resistance and combativeness. But then the video would show the police punching a black suspect, and the officers would be demonized by the public, sensationalized by the media, and condemned by their leaders. So that use of force has been removed due to the social media mob, and police officers must resort to another more socially acceptable level of force: a hands-off taser that failed, twice.
As Blake broke loose, officers grabbed his shirt in lieu of placing Blake in a neck restraint, something taught in most police academies up until recently. But neck restraints weren't an option because the social media mob has demonized chokehold out of existence.
So you the public, being manipulated by agenda-driven politicians and revenue-driven media, have removed the very levels of force based on an infinitesimal number of isolated incidents.

Yes, it is 100% a fighting knife.
I dont understand why they let him go to his car.
I think he had already pretty much beat their asses, and then shook off a taser, so I dont think they let him do anything.
A black man shot seven times in the back by US police had a knife and fought with officers beforehand, putting one in a headlock and shrugging off two Taser attempts, it is claimed.
See new tagline.
Why does no one discuss the resistance to cooperating with the police and stop resisting arrest?
If Jacob Blake, the Minnesota guy, etc. hadn’t resisted arrest they would probably be alive today.
This is not a fair discussion about police tactics, but an assault on the ability to solve problems. We see thugs trying to force their solution by mayhem, intimidation and force. Someone is organizing them to do the their mayhem.
We have weak democrat political leaders that allows this mayhem to continue. At some point there is a need to remove these idiots from leadership. Hope it is soon.
It’s all part of the bigger systematic effort to get rid of all laws and destroy civilization.
Yes, it is 100% a fighting knife.
Yup, only purpose of that knife is to cut people up.
And the only type of guy who buys that type of a knife is someone who psychologically really wants to cut someone up.
And the dirt bag brought that knife to what he knew was going to be a domestic violence confrontation with his wife while children were present.
Wife was scared for her safety, for good reason, the guy had a long standing history of domestic violence and unprovoked felony assaults with deadly weapons, including guns, that easily could have escalated into tragic homicide. She called the police to come save them.
When the police showed up he resisted arrest and assaulted the police - while brandishing that same knife. He entered the car looking for all the world like he was going for a gun.
Reputedly, the vehicle he was trying to enter was filled with children. if he had gotten into the car the police faced and instant hostage situation with children being hostages. or perhaps even a murder suicide scenario
That shooting was totally justified.
Easy. The POS resisted arrest, tried to pull a knife on cops with guns pointed at him like an @hole and got justice.
bump
Well, one of them wasn’t in fear of charges of “police brutality,” since he shot him 7 times from behind.
If they thought they shouldn’t be brutal, and tasers didn’t work, they could have let him go. They knew who he was. Defuse the situation and go pick him up later...when they could find sufficient backup. Next time he goes to pick up his check, or his kids.
One shot in the back was almost certainly enough to remove whatever threat he posed. Give them that. It’s the next two shots, the pause, and the four shots that followed, that raise questions in my mind.
Let’s ask Laz.
