People look at the Jacob Blake incident and want to immediately condemn the police. They want to play the “what if” game and label all police part of a systemic problem that is predisposed to targeting communities of color, when in fact they should be the ones looking in the mirror.
The Left has, time and again, removed the tools of policing that not only creates an atmosphere for a Jacob Blake incident; it all but guarantees it.
Today’s politicians and anti-police rhetoric have enabled criminals to disobey direct verbal commands from law enforcement, emboldening criminals not to comply with officers and creating a generational anti-authority mindset.
Let’s say the officers could have used the physical force necessary to control Mr. Blake, using properly taught head and body strikes, even punches, to force compliance over Blake's apparent resistance and combativeness. But then the video would show the police punching a black suspect, and the officers would be demonized by the public, sensationalized by the media, and condemned by their leaders. So that use of force has been removed due to the social media mob, and police officers must resort to another more socially acceptable level of force: a hands-off taser that failed, twice.
As Blake broke loose, officers grabbed his shirt in lieu of placing Blake in a neck restraint, something taught in most police academies up until recently. But neck restraints weren't an option because the social media mob has demonized chokehold out of existence.
So you the public, being manipulated by agenda-driven politicians and revenue-driven media, have removed the very levels of force based on an infinitesimal number of isolated incidents.

A man with warrants out for his arrest undoubtedly will resist arrest even if it means the end of his life. I’m convinced our society is beyond repair. We are putting to many idiots on the streets thanks to public education.
His name will rot the newspapers until the next violent black criminal gets gunned down, and then they’ll plaster that persons name all over the tabloids.
I understand not all black people are down with BLM - probably a good 5-10% loathe it actually. But you have to question their community leadership who literally eulogizes criminals and their wicked behavior as they get instant justice due to their wicked deeds.
I don’t understand why they let him go to his car. It should have been secured, as it was a source of numerous advantages to a man they’re trying to arrest. A car might contain weapons, in fact it’s a deadly weapon itself, and it had a back seat full of potential hostages; it offers a fugitive protection and speed. Yet they trailed him all the way to the driver’s seat. They let him stroll to third base.
The unintended consequences of these media firestorms is to further reinforce and make permanent the “Ferguson” effect. If society will not back the best judgement of trained police officers in explosive violent situations then they will simply stop putting themselves in those situations.
The victims will be the innocent black citizens who will be subjected to horrific violence with no protection from the state that is sworn to do so.
Ironic.
Seriously, though. I question the wisdom of cops putting a man armed with a knife in a neck hold.
EVERYBODIES got a camera. So much worse than all the folks that have COVID, the STUPID disease has run rampant across the nation and everyone feels they need to take pictures of everyone else being stupid.
Take away all the Obama phones with cameras and the crime rate will drop significantly!

Actually, if the girlfriend had been armed...she would have taught him respect or would have shot him herself.
This is another case where virtually everyone needs to be armed and taught how to handle a weapon.
The Kenosha police need to seriously reconsider their choice of ammunition. Nobody should be shot by police as many times as this guy and live if good ammunition is used.
Especially women who have some guy coming over to assault them “once or twice a year”.
The Left, using blacks, have put America in a kind of hostage situation.

As posted above, this is a non-factor in this case. One would be a fool to try a neck restraint on a man with a knife in his hand.
They were smart to give him a little space, but should not have allowed him to enter the car. At that point, the situation was only going to escalate. He needed to be stopped.
No way they are going to try and grab a guy with a knife, that is suicidal.
That karambit that Blake was carrying has limited practical use. Slicing up someone trying to get ahold of you would be the most likely
