CNN political analyst Joe Lockhart attacked former Covington Catholic High School student Nick Sandmann after his network settled a $250 million defamation lawsuit earlier this year.
On Tuesday evening, CNN awkwardly aired Sandmann's speech as part of the second night of the Republican National Convention, where he said his life "changed forever in that one moment" because the "full war machine in the mainstream media revved up into attack mode" while botching its coverage of the 2019 viral confrontation with a Native American elder that had portrayed the Kentucky teen as the aggressor.
However, one of Sandmann's loudest critics came from the network that he settled with.

I expect that Sandman’s lawyer, Lin Wood, will dust off the settlement agreement with CNN and review the non-disparagement clause. Joe Lockhart may have to eat a big plate of crow before the end of the week.
Congratulations Joe, your idiotic tweet could very well cost your bosses another embarassing slap down in court.

I wonder if the plaintiff can go back to the judge and report

Lockhart calls Nick Sandman “privileged.” Gee Joe, your father was a long-time producer at NBC (Huntley-Brinkley Report), and you moved to Washington to attend Georgetown University, a private university at that. All you ever did was work in politics. You had no real job. You might want to check your own privilege before you attack what you perceive of others. And what about your involvement with the National Guard issue when George W. Bush was running for President? You lied through your teeth on that one mister.

no but they are very cruel and that can do a lot of damage. I see a recurring theme on this site that we are under estimating hatred. We should not.

Wouldn’t he lose his “not a public figure” mantle when he decides to make a televised speech at the Republican National Convention? But, as others have pointed out, there could be a clause in his settlement that would give him the means to go after Lockhart.
