Former ESPN host and current Atlantic writer Jemele Hill, said that those who believe the United States isn’t “nearly as bad as Nazi Germany,” are mistaken.
The outspoken Trump-critic and liberal activist made the comments in a Twitter post on Sunday, after reading a book called Caste, by Isabel Wilkerson.
In the book, Wilkerson likens the Jim Crow system in the South to a caste system. Claiming that, “every aspect of life was so tightly controlled and scripted and restricted that race was an insufficient term to capture the depth and organized repression that people were living under.”

Jim Crow is history. Trillions in reparations have been paid since then. Today, black Americans can ( those that wish) take advantage of preferential racist hiring , promotion, lending, college admissions, and more. The article author is extremely out of date, out of touch with modern reality. How about an article about all the well qualified white and Asian Americans who have to pay the bills while suffering the racist discriminations all the while
And yet....Hill is allowed to rant against the President and display his hatred for him on public airwaves...and is NOT arrested for it.

If she is just figuring out that there are caste systems in every culture, she is incredibly ignorant.
Of course in the US it is possible for people to move “up” if that is what you want. Not so much in African culture.
Try going to Sudan and “work your way out” of the lower castes.
If the US is now Nazi, then the tattooed freaks would be lampshades by now.
Certainly Jim Crow laws were unfair and unjust but to compare the Jim Crow South with Nazi Germany is ludicrous. Which of the Southern states operated gas chambers to exterminate innocent people?

No doubt she will vote for Kamala, a high-caste Tamil who could become President within months of Jan. 20, 2021, if the Democrats win. Reporters should be inquiring of Kamala if she intends to impose caste rules in the US by executive order. Or if she will ban the consumption of beef.
