A white couple on Long Island was arrested for allegedly harassing their black neighbor by repeatedly shooting pellets across her yard and leaving feces on her lawn, officials announced Monday.
John McEneaney, 57, and his 53-year-old girlfriend, Mindy Canarick, are accused of carrying out the attacks on neighbor Jennifer McLeggan from October 2017 — when she moved into her Valley Stream home — until last month, according to Nassau County District Attorney Madeline Singas.
McLeggan, a 39-year-old single mother of a 2-year-old daughter, brought attention to the alleged harassment last month by listing the allegations on a handwritten sign attached to her door and posted on Instagram.
The mother claimed she was targeted because of her race, but Singas said her office’s investigation “did not find evidence to support a hate crime charge.
”The probe did, however, find “a pattern of harassing conduct against Ms. McLeggan,” the DA said.

Thats why the neighbor is pissed off. Remember she bought the house in foreclosure. Then you know VS was always blue collar. This street is North of Merrick Rd. But VS proximity to Green Acres mall hurt them. I worked there in 1970. It was already getting dangerous.

A lot of houses went into foreclosure in VS especially since the financial crisis of 2008-2009.
If you read the first article about this situation from over a month ago, the police had a press conference with the Nassau County executive Laura Curran, the woman who claimed harassment held an event - all over basically someone throwing g dog shit on her lawn.
She is trying to make this a big racial issue, seems a bit manufactured to me.

Dog shit, human feces, pellet guns. Would you want to come home to that after a hard day’s work and she works 2 jobs. It’s all on recordings. That’s why they were finally arrested.
they used to do that in my old neighborhood in the ghetto of Rochester NY. I moved in ‘94. Had enough of my kids being harassed as well. Happened to both my daughter who is white and my son who is mixed (black and white)
