Four Chicago aldermen on Wednesday called for a special meeting of the City Council to consider a resolution asking Illinois Gov. J.B. Pritzker to declare a state of emergency and deploy the Illinois National Guard to the city over recent violence and looting.
Alds. Leslie Hairston, Anthony Beale, Raymond Lopez and Anthony Napolitano issued the call in a letter to Chicago City Clerk Anna Valencia.
The letter calls for a special meeting of the Chicago City Council at 10 a.m. on Friday to take up a resolution calling for the state of emergency and to hear from city and Cook County officials on efforts to address "the rioting, looting, destruction, and most importantly, the safety of all Chicagoans."
In the resolution, the group of aldermen say Chicago "has never seen more violence, unrest and organized looting," alleging residents and visitors are "afraid to travel" throughout the city.
"Businesses across our City have been subject to unyielding criminals, many on the brink of failure contemplating their future in Chicago," the resolution reads, going on to say, "The continued attacks against Chicago's collective safety will impact our residential real estate, current and future investments in our communities, and our City's future economic development."
The resolution calls on Pritzker to declare a state of emergency and deploy the Illinois National Guard to Chicago to assist the Chicago Police Department for no less than four months.

Won’t happen. All it would take is for the mayor to make a phone call, but the peaceful protesters haven’t looted enough yet. Sorry mandatory reparations. And what’s a little mayhem.
The National Guard would be insane to go into Chicago, when even hurting the feelings of an Oppressed Person of Oppressionism could result in additional violence and destruction - ‘scuse me, peaceful demonstrations - nationwide.
I hope Pritzker is smart enough to see it’s no-win for himself.
Lightfoot will claim racism against her because she’s black, not because she’s incompetent.
My daughter decided to move out of Chicago and of this week is living in Fort Collins, Co. Good for her. The exodus is underway.
What is it about reparations that they don’t like?
Oh—the little problem that the white slaves refuse to stay on the plantation....
Maybe Kim Foxx can lend a hand?........ROTFLOL
Sorry you have to endure the mayhem until Nov. You know, cuz orangemanbad.
Who's gonna pay for 4 months of the NG?
Is the Magnificent Mile still being LOOTED???
Wont never happen until whole downtown is in flames and too late...Brillo head littlefoot and foxxie girl has got this....Lolol...blue ballers...
I understand they upped security after the riots the other day. Of course that’s not permanent. They need to go after the rings that organize the mayhem. If it’s broadcast through social media, and with the use of facial recognition on drivers license and arrest photos, identities shouldn’t be hard to find.
The taxpayers. Dems prefer it be federal funds, which imo is unjust. Just raise taxes in the state and city and incent more people to leave.
The election won’t stop it. Snow will a little later.
As Shitcago slips away...
LOOK FOR THIS TO HAPPEN TO THESE ALDERMAN;
What the in name only Democratic Party has been doing in gerrymandering remapping has been singling out areas of various districts where it is dominated by a minority and create a single district out of it which not only disrupts those districts affected of getting civic services needs but pits one group against the other. An example of this is in what Chicago did here;
CHICAGO MIDWAY AIRPORT AREA HISTORY
HOW IDENTITY POLITICS WARD RE MAPPING DESTROYED THE COMMUNITIES WITHIN
That finger of Chicago’s border on its south side extending from 51st to 65th streets 4 miles further beyond Cicero Avenue to Harlem Avenue has a very interesting history. Post WWII during the 1950’s and 60’s the area mushroomed into dozens of single dwelling subdivions where thousands of of five and more room single 1 family units were built. After a struggle by residents including this writer the area managed to get the area remapped into one ward (23rd) and only one alderman needed to respond to their needs. Today the area has four alderman including the 12th, 13th, and 14th who’s wards are spread miles apart and the reason is political because the area was conservative The same rules apply to state and congressional districts
